The Tanguts, in 1002, were able to cross the wall easily by filling in trenches along its length. in 1644 when the Qing troops marched through the gates of the Shanhai Pass and replaced the Ming dynasty as rulers of China.
The most effective and inexpensive deterrent to illegal immigration is to simply go after the criminal employers breaking the law by hiring them. On the other hand, right now employers are complaining that with the current full employment, there is not enough labor even with all the illegal immigrants working. Maybe a better policy would be to design a viable path to legal status for the illegal immigrants we already have., and encourage more immigration, not less.

Interesting that you equate the illegal immigrants coming across our southern borders as marauders. That is more extreme than Trump.
