So, criticizing Democrats justifies those types of personal attacks? Really? Is your political identity so fragile that you cannot control you emotions if it is criticized. You can criticize Republicans all day... call them immoral animals (I am sure you do) and I will not then attack you personally with invective and trashy vile name calling.
I have no idea what the personal attacks were. The comment was removed before I opened the Bulwark today. No, do not dehumanize anyone. Criticizing a party is not a personal attack. However, according to history, dehumanizing a group, especially with such a broad and false brush is the first step to rationalizing violence against that group, sometimes going as far as wholesale politically sanctioned murder.
If I agreed with that, and I don't but you do, then you must criticize your party for dehumanizing those irredeemable deplorables.
You can see an example of his common personal attack a couple of comments earlier in the same thread. He deleted the second one out of latent reflection and embarrassment I am sure.
First of all, you must understand that I am not a Democrat, and have never been a Democrat. Whether you agree with what I wrote about generalized dehumanization of any group is irrelevant. It is a matter of historical fact.
About Hillary's comment. "You could put half of TrumpтАЩs supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?тАЭ Clinton said. тАЬThe racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.тАЭ She did not call them animals-ie-not human, like you did the Democrats, most of whom are actually fine, upstanding people.. She criticized their character. She did not dehumanize them. And as it turned out, she was not wrong. Trump did embolden those sorts of people, and when he was elected, some of those people took committed grievous acts against groups Trump targeted, sometimes even invoking Trump's name while doing so.. She said THE OTHER HALF of TrumpтАЩs supporters тАЬfeel that the government has let them downтАЭ and are тАЬdesperate for change.тАЭ Is there immortality among Democrats? Yes indeed. Is there immorality among Republicans? Yes indeed. It is a human thing, not a party thing. Tribalism dehumanizes as a way to rationalize their irrational attitudes and behavior.
You were the guy who sought to dehumanize Democrats three weeks ago by calling them "immoral animals." You have no room to talk.
