Well, how many US presidents have had graduate degrees from MIT? Or CEOs? Or generals?
Don't worry about AI getting good at solving problems. Worry about AI getting good at schmoozing and politicking.
No one who has achieved any influence in society will see any benefit in training it to do that, so it may well never happen. AI may well achieve the equivalent social power and influence of postdocs, and never more than that.
