Thank you, I was hoping someone from Nebraska would chime in. In my most pessimistic moments, I think that the divide in this country isn't between the rich and the poor, the urban and the rural, the North and the South. It's between the people who read and the people who won't. It sounds a bit like Sasse used to have a constituency of people who read, but now those people are being purged from his party.
I am also from Nebraska, and Ryan Groff has pretty much nailed the situation here. Even though Omaha and Lincoln may eventually turn blue (they are purple now) the rest of the state is very pro Trump.
The only thing that surprises me is that Governor Pete Ricketts (who is term limited) has decided not to try and grab Sasse’s soon to be empty Senate seat.
