When I heard the news about Ashley Babbitt my stomach twisted into knots and I immediately thought of Michael Fanone. I honestly don't know how he stays sane. The injustice is off the charts.
It was only a matter of time: first she was pardoned posthumously. Then she received $5 million as part of a wrongful death settlement; even though she stormed the Capitol, kicking her way into the House Chamber. And now she’s getting a military funeral with honors.
I can’t wait for MAGA to honor her with a statue, liking her to Joan of Arc. Perhaps Hegseth can display it right next to his portrait of Robert E Lee in a Confederate uniform.
It's all an obvious attempt at the white-washing of 1/6. The strong consensus of history will be that 1/6 was an attempt to thwart a free & fair election where Biden won.
Of course, Trump's so beyond disordered that he can't handle the truth, and the MAGA go along w his delusions. So history will be a win for the political sane, but in the meantime they (& we) suffer.
