I think the missing link legally is having a local judge deputize the participants.
You could reframe it as a ‘right to bear arms’ protest, and put together large block of ‘blue shirts’ to protest militant right wing activity.
Just have 24/7 media over watch to catch Trump’s goons overstepping first.
Getting the dems to participate would be an uphill battle…
