The reality is that Dems won that North Carolina election and then had to fight it out in court. The 2020 election was somewhat similar and litigation is now a key part of the GOP strategy.

Unfortunately, the GOP is at a structural advantage since they can make multiple challenges even if they have zero merit: Dems will have to spend MORE money to fight. And courts will, of course, take their time, giving undue deference to the GOP litigants. This is especially true if the election challenge comes from the Trump 'Justice' Department. It's like when MAGA lies: It's easy, costs very little in time/energy/$, forcing truthtellers to expend enormous amounts of time/energy/$ to refute, to very little avail since the initial lie is what most people remember.
