Quick comment on VP Harris's visit to Planned Parenthood. Every single article, including yours, emphasizes only abortion. VP Harris made a point of stressing that Planned Parenthood provides a multitude of reproductive health services. These include routine gynecological screenings, breast screenings for both men and women, and many other things. They serve patients across the economic spectrum. The war Republicans are waging is not just against abortion. The reproductive health access Biden/Harris and Democrats are working to defend are fundamental preventative services, as well as other, non-abortion, procedures. In other words, they are providing HEALTHCARE. It would be nice see some strong focus on that from all news sources.
Exactly. I'd just like to add that over funded Crisis Pregnancy Centers which are taking the place of those clinics in red states, do not provide any of that care and rarely have actual medical professionals on staff.
I could only find 1 article that discussed the health options VP Harris discussed at Planned Parenthood, and that was the local paper. The MSM isn't interested, as usual. If there were a few more women CEOs, they'd be interested. At least, my working theory is that MSM is only writing for a handful of non-readers.
I could not find any. Good for your local paper, and I agree with your take on the MSM. The focus I saw throughout the media yesterday and this morning was a
"VP Harris Visits ABORTION Clinic. Why many feel this is an unwise decision" approach. My first pap smear was 50 years ago at a Planned Parenthood in my university town. They were kind, knowledgeable and supportive -- providing considerable information about birth control alternatives. They were without judgment, and I made my own decision -- just as it should be for every woman and man, when it comes to healthcare. I will continue to support PP with donations as best I can until I am gone. I applaud our Vice President for her attention to the importance of healthcare for everyone, particularly reproductive healthcare.

For them it all boils down to specifically women's health issues are icky and should be ignored or ridiculed.
And it's a message that can work in rural areas as well as urban areas.
Exactly!
