There is an upshot to all this. Trump brought together Democrats like myself who never for a second thought I'd be breaking bread metaphorically with Bill Kristol and Charlie Sykes, let alone subscribing. The Bulwark has become my political Xanax, and this morning is no exception.

And this is the great hope from this experience, where folks from both sides of the balance reach out, listen, and learn from one another. And this discussion is not academic, it's existential. Let's keep on - I too find the Bulwark both comforting and encouraging.

I'm with you there. I now understand the difference between legitimate political differences and bat shit crazy fascists that really do exist. I think that reasonable Democrats and Republicans can find common ground. They need to rein in the far right and left and convince them that it is in everyone's best interest to fight fascism not each other. The idea that the prominent Republicans today prefer Putin to Americans of either party is a travesty. Reagan must be rolling in his grave.

It's been interesting reading the Bulwark and feeling myself move slightly to the right while watching people like Charlie moving from the right to meet me in the middle.
