Joe is at the kids end of the defense attorney's table. He's there with the coloring books to babysit TFG. There is a hierarchy in the placement of attorneys at the defense table. He won't be doing much of anything inside the courtroom, probably only dealing with the press.
He strikes me as the PR lawyer, hired to work the court of public opinion in interviews and on the Sunday shows, sort of the new Rudy, except rational and not wanting to piss off the judge, oddly. He’s wanting to advance not just himself, but his mouthy client, bless his heart.
Linda - yup. Reminds me ... I still don't get the purpose of interviewing guys like him on the news shows ... he's literally paid to advocate for his client. There can be no candor, and any truth that could harm his client can only be denied or obfuscated.
I suppose the same thing could be said about partisan operatives and many/most elected officials. To your point - mostly a PR game directed at the court of public opinion.
Joe is like a caricature of a mob boss. I’m sure that’s not a coincidence. That’s the world in which Trump has always chosen to dwell. He revels in it.
I’m sure Joe Tacopiñacolada will successfully defend him against all charges, tho.

I don't know.
Joe feels like the actor hired to provide comic relief while the pickpockets are working the crowd.
Great description. Look, over here, squirrels . . .

We must have listened to the same podcast, TC. I learned the mob has a code of ethics regarding prosecutors. Trump didn’t get that memo.
Yeah, perhaps that also describes his base, which could explain why they don’t notice that he’s a complete fraud. They’re all frauds too.
Waiting for Trump to debut his Vinny the Chin Gigante/Uncle Junior act.
You aren't wrong, but I suspect that Kevin's tongue was firmly planted in his cheek with that one.
