My favorite is the same people who complained about inflation are now complaining about high interest rates. Raising interest rates is how inflation is fought. It's almost like we'll blame the Democrats when unrealistic conditions don't magically appear!
One of my things is every person should take a class in basic economics before graduating high school. It’s stunning how even some, very well educated people have zero clue how any of this works and then are like constantly like wait what?! I can’t tell you how many people I’ve had to explain simple concepts like interest rates, inflation and supply/ demand. And some of these people have masters degrees!
And every person should have to work the polls for two or three elections before they can vote, kind of like the peace corps. That immunize us from the incredible BS spread by TFG. We might not be in this situation now if we did this.
My tenant is a poll worker and is firmly convinced the 2020 election was stolen from Trump. She believes her many years of being a poll worker gives her more insight into voting than most people have. She thinks Bill O'Reilly and Tucker Carlson are "really smart." So I wouldn't count on being a poll worker to prevent the American voter from being susceptible to brainwashing.
