Waltz seems to me like an old style progressive he is interested in making peoples lives better and opportunities for the future. Don’t seem getting to caught up in the far left pet issues.
The identarian Left are what I call "the Intersectionals" (anyone who is not a straight, white male). Their theory of the case is that anyone who is a straight, white male and any country founded by them is bad because racial and sexual minorities and women exist in interlocking systems of oppression run by them. That those systems are interlocking is what makes them intersectionals. That's the Far Left of my party.
Daphne said Walz is "an old style progressive interested in making peoples lives better and opportunities for the future." That's what moderate liberals like me are (I am a straight, white female). We don't mind our taxes going to pay for the government programs that make people's lives better, especially if those people are children.
So Walz is an economic progressive, not one focused on the oppressed racial and sexual minorities. As to women, he is pro-choice, which means that the woman with an unwanted pregnancy should not be forced to carry that pregnancy through to birth by the government making abortion illegal.
I guess I do. I just happen to agree with them personally, but that agenda seems less important. Also the anti Israel stuff is creepy it is possible to accept that Netanyahu is awful without forgetting that our own national security depends on Israel and that all terrorism is bad.

Yes. You mean the identitarian Left.
I don’t know what you mean by this, Sandy.
Thx for asking, Sheri.

Does this make sense? Do let me know.
