If anyone could help me make sense of today's Cheap Shots, I would appreciate it.

Kari Lake is genuinely deranged, so any GOP hopes that she'll be able to hide the crazy for a sustained period of time are misguided. She couldn't even sustain it for the span of a fifteen minute interview.

That Biden campaign ad is a good ad. It's civil, appropriately calibrated in its attack of "his predecessor," touts Biden as a man who knows how to get things done and has a record to prove it, and it's self-deprecating.

On the Cheap Shots, all I can figure out is: (1) royal family did something clumsy and inept, in response to which (2) the press is doing something clumsy and inept; (3) in 2024, somebody somewhere still believes that you can tell a story with holes in it big enough to drive a truck through and be taken seriously;* (4) it was a non-story to begin with, except to the royals-obsessed; and (5)(a) sooner or later the "full" story will be told, at which time (b) it will probably be worth about five minutes attention. I wish Kate Middleton well. I wish the lady picking my lettuce and tomatoes well too.

* for more than 5 minutes, by anyone but fanatical supporters

I was curious enough to go to the Daily Mail yesterday to see what the fuss was (knowing it's the kind of story they love). These are the issues highlighted:

1. There's something odd about Charlotte's left hand where it emerges from her sleeve.

2. There's something odd about the top of her skirt on the other side -- but it could just be a pocket,

3. Her hair appears to have a blunt-edged shorter section on her right shoulder -- but that could be an optical illusion.

4. Kate's hand doesn't have her sapphire ring on it - but maybe she doesn't wear it at all times.

So that leaves only no. 1 without an easy explanation.

You can’t make sense of it. Even Middleton’s team said the picture was real. It’s a non-issue, not even sure why it’s a cheap shot or relevant to politics.

I am only assuming it’s because this might be AI generated picture. Look at the kid on the lefts fingers. Not sure this is an actual “Cheap Shot” though.

Kate has apologized for screwing up the Photoshop.

I consider myself a little tech savvy, but I simply cannot figure out how to use Photoshop. Might be partly because they don't do hard copy instruction manuals any more. Staring at a computer screen doesn't work for me.

I have to do desktop publishing for work and I stay as far away from photo manipulation as I can. As you say, no hard copy instruction manuals.

For me the written word is always better. The word I can actually hold in my hands!
