I hope her printer works better than mine.

"Magenta cartridge needs replacing."

"I'm printing in black and white, I don't need MAGENTA!"

"Printer will not function without a new MAGENTA CARTRIDGE"

replaces cartridge

"Paper jam"

Yeah, that always annoyed me, why do you have to replace color ones you aren't using when you only need black

Because it doesn't actually use just black to print black, strangely enough.

Don't get me started about printers.

Yeah, I know but, it doesn't have to do that, it is just a way to force you to buy those very expensive color cartridges...ticked me off when I worked for the law firm as we had several of them

I no longer use or need a color printer, but, I would get a laser one if I did

Ink jet ink is, on a weight basis, more costly than gold, or at least was before Gold went through the roof. May still be.

I shifted to laser a long time ago. It doesn't dry up, is more physically robust/reliable, and ultimately cheaper.

And, yes, they could design it so that you only needed black but don't... salthough if you switch to low quality printing, that sometimes fixes that (or used to, back in the day).

The printer ink business is one big rip off.
