Sorry but I saw the Tenn protests. That and $4 will get me a latte.

I am old enough to remember when we in the North wrote off the South. Well we still do.

Are you suggesting that a northerner cannot write off the South? Sure that have had and still have those who want progress. But for me, I really give up. I say that as a NJ guy who paid over 30k in federal taxes... that I do not protest paying. But I really do give up.

I regard '68 as the single most crucial election of the post-wwii era in that it was the rollout of the southern strategy. Once it worked, it was inevitable the republican party would become the confederate party.

And inevitably like the confederacy as they lost followers they would turn to autocratic rule. The problem now is they are able to enforce minority rule with gerrymandering.

and by stealing elections when gerrymandering isn't enough

problem is democrats let them do it just like democrats whine that boebert was reelected when it would have taken them pennies and minutes to have prevented that -- sadly the strong "courageous" (ie unscrupulous dishonest) party is not the democratic one.
