The Democrat responses about thoughts and prayers come from decades of Republican virtue signaling with thoughts and prayers — not that it’s ever been serious — and then turning the page. There is an inherent contradiction in an America that believes in easy access to highly destructive weapons, but then acts surprised when those weapons are used to kill people. You can’t have both, and if you prize people’s right to have easy aces such weapons without much scrutiny then expect people to put those weapons to use at some point.
