I wonder. Is Trump doing the Saddam Hussein thing - I know who isn't loyal, the firing squad is out back? Is he doing the Hitler thing - swear fealty to the dear leader now, or the firing squad is out the back? Or is he just showing that he can summon them, then tell them what he thinks their loyalty must be, with firing squads later for those who didn't get his point?
Hegseth, a junior officer, coddler of war criminals, alcoholic adulterer (alliteration!), purporting to lead(?) a gathering of flag officers is its own form of irony.

It would be interesting to see an unedited video of what goes down in that meeting. Doubt we will ever see it. We will get some carefully selected soundbites, though. I wonder if they will be bold enougth to add an applause track to it.
I am still wondering; in what universe is this guy more qualified than me to run the DoD? Note that I am not saying that I am qualified.
It's like trump threw darts at a wall chart to see what position he'd award each of his most loyal lackeys. He could just as randomly put Patel as Defense Secretary and Bondi as head of HHS and Kennedy as FBI head and Hegseth at Homeland Security and Noem as Attorney General. It's all just so random and incompetent! I have no doubt you're more qualified than any of these jokers - and if a law degree was necessary, a night school law course and some common sense would place you head and shoulders above any of these fools that somehow obtained one.
