I live in a rural county in Nebraska. Perhaps the most prominent faces of the federal government for farmers are the employees at the local Farm Services Agency. Almost all farmers are on a first name basis with these employees, as they are the contact point for all the many ways federal programs impact agriculture. Gotta believe the disdainful and cruel way Musk and Trump are speaking about and acting toward these workers will not sit well with some farmers.
So far, I heard reporting the the Iowa and Wisconsin Farmer Unions (or whatever they call themselves) are quite unhappy with what is going on. What they will do about it? I don't know.
