Can someone explain to me how The Bulwark/tenured pundits like Joe Klein and Bret Stephens' aimless wishcasting for somebody other than Biden is any different than Conservative Inc.'s aimless wishcasting for somebody other than Trump?

Or my 50+ year "wishcasting" that someday a majority would vote by reason instead of emotion, and reject "idol worship" and admit that politicians are supposed to serve us, not vice versa?

It is precisely wish-casting. They effusively praise these Whitmer-Warnock etc tickets as if Kamala Harris is not sitting right there after a successful term as Senator and years off on the job training alongside an old pro like Joe.

Sure, and I wish they had named me prom king. But lets move on, shall we?

She did not finish her her senate term. I voted for her for Senate and was sorry she was picked to be VP. But there is no getting rid of her now.

Yes, I do not see the point in all the hand-wringing about her. I am also from California. Have seen her positives and negatives. Would not necessarily vote for her with a song in my heart, but she is solid on the things I care about, such as protecting democracy.

When was the last time Joe Klein was relevant?

Remember when we used to call him "Joke Line"? Early 2000s, I think.

REDHEADED CENTER for the тАШ86 Boston Celtics (Robert ParishтАЩs backup) - out of Arkansas, I believe. Good hustle, ok around the basket, 1 foul per 1 minute played

Exactly. Thank you. I donтАЩt know why the Bulwark is trying to make him relevant.

Because Charlie had to find someone who would agree with him about Biden.

It is different because the underlying belief is that Biden loves his country and understands that Trump losing is more important than Biden winning. If Biden comes to believe that he is not the strongest candidate against Trump, the rational thing to do is to bow out. If his value system is as described.

We all know what Trump's value system is.

I firmly believe he would do that if for any reason he doubted that he could serve ably for a second term. ThatтАЩs his value system. But for the moment, given foreign policy challenges, I think heтАЩs by far the best person for the job.

I appreciate the sentiment, but Joe worked his entire life to get here. He's not giving that up.

Personally, I believe that ship (Joe stepping back and what, holding a primary that no one has planned for?) has long sailed, and we should accept the fact that Biden will be our nominee.

I think some of the discomfort I see has more to do with Biden's VP, a very intelligent, experienced black woman that the right and some on the far left hate (literally on Hillary Clinton level) who would take over if something were to happen.

That's so true. Haley already said in her campaign she is not running g against Biden, she's running against Harris. That is resonating with Republicans.

Nothing scarier to Republicans than a strong competent black woman in charge!

I'm not sure about Harris. There are other black women who have more legislative experience.

But the other black women aren't VP.

Yes, there are, but experience counts in my opinion. We don't need an inexperienced Presidential candidate just because we think it ticks a box. She has no record to campaign on, which is why I disliked that she ran in the primary. I voted for her for Senate and then she started campaigning for President. There was no reason she couldn't have completed her term started a second and then ran for President.

No record? She's been serving in public office for 33 years. She headed the largest state Justice Department in starting in 2010.

And you might remember, Obama didn't serve his whole term as Senator and he certainly didn't have any problems.

She was DA of SF for 7 years and Attourney General for seven years. Not legislative experience. She faked her background during the primary by saying she was a poor black being bussed to school. In reality her parents were both well to do academics at Berkely hardly the ghetto.

And just as Dan Quayle was no Jack Kennedy, Harris is no Obama.

So you think a person who was a District Attorney, and the State Attorney General has nothing to do with legislation? Dude.

And if you're going to repeat right wing talking points, she was in fact bussed to elementary school :

"News website Berkeleyside reported that Harris was bused to school from her family's apartment on Bancroft Way."
