I have never enjoyed a SOTU so much in my life. I hope we can stop the “Biden’s too old” chorus now. He was spry and used decades of political experience to own the MAGAs. He even tried to help out poor SINO McCarthy as his weakness was on full display. Great tempo throughout as POTUS kept my attention the entire time.

Sorry but no can do though I agree with you about last night! He had it and he brought it! But I simply do not see a 90-year-old surviving, with not only the weight of the world on his head and shoulders but the viciousness and violence of the Republican/Putin Party as well. Presidents who do their job age in office. Biden has already aged in office. I do not want him to die in office. So I do not think he should run as much as I would like to have him there for eight years.

He’s 80. He will never be 90 in office.

Someone said 86. So he'd be 86 when he finishes second term then? I still worry about his health/survival. He has given his entire life to service and he deserves some easy years with a loving family around him.

We know who his VP is. He won’t dump her. He’s a loyal guy.

She hasn't been very visible. And she doesn't seem to have the charisma probably needed to win. I have thought of her as hillary without the experience. Unfair maybe but realistic. Its disappointing Biden doesn't seem to be grooming her. I thought she would grow as vp but not so far. Just my observations.

I don’t think she meant Kamala.

He will be 86 at the end of his second term. Lame duck presidents usually have a couple of quiet years at the end of their terms; either their party is in power and they can get some fun stuff passed or it isn’t and they cannot get anything done.

I know that we are in good hands with him. He’s not an orator but last night was pretty awesome.

He may. It is.

Certainly not up to me.

I pray for him, however old-fashioned that may be.

I have only ever once before seen a similar example of such raucous disrespect in a legislative body. We have devolved into the British Parliament.

I was thinking that too. But the Brits do it with a bit of humor in them. These cretins are just moronic, infantile.

I was thinking the same thing - yes the Brits have raucous verbal brawls in Parliament but they at least use full sentences when they speak.

Exactly!

And "devolved" into Parliament is probably the wrong word. For the MTGs of the world it is several steps UP.

Good correction but she did quote the ancient proverb accurately. I was thinking more of a play on lines Fried Green Tomatoes when 20-somethings steal a parking place and tell Kathy Bates "We're younger and faster" -- she drives into their car and pushes it out of the space and says "I'm older and have more insurance." We do get the feeling. I do like your massage of the proverb in this case.
