The question that hasn't been answered, as far as I've seen, is WHY blacks and Latinos voted for openly racist Trump, etc. I can see them not voting for a Dem, but voting for Trump?

There are conservative blacks and latinos. In fact latinos tend to be quite conservative. If the GOP could get its head out of its ass long enough they'd calm down on their open borders fear-mongering and support better immigration laws because quite a fair few of those coming here would be a natural part of their constituency.

Unfortunately the racism trumps rational political reasoning.

Kevin is absolutely correct. On social issues, blacks and Latinos are to the right of most white voters. If the GOP would stop with the racist nonsense, these voters, especially Latinos are natural conservative voters.

As I a reluctant Dem (I'm socially conservative), I say if the Dems would get their asses out of the ultra pro-abortion, ultra pro AOC, ultra Gore (still waiting for the Himalayas to lose all their snow and ice), etc., and start concentrating on what really matters to blacks and Latinos, they wouldn't vote for asses like Trump. Unfortunately, they're like the Jews who didn't mind Hitler - until he came for them.

The Dem position on abortion is the popular position on abortion.

I think she is probably thinking of the "partial birth" abortion, which isn't actually a thing except on right-wing propaganda.

Gore was right about the Himalayas, so you should probably find a different example. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/12/20/himalayan-glaciers-melting-at-extraordinary-rate-research-finds-.html

"Ice sheets across the Himalayas have shrunk 10 times faster in the past four decades than during the previous seven centuries."

It doesn't matter if Gore was right if a majority doesn't agree with him. Perception is Everything in politics.

The thing is Eva is implying that that the Dems can do something about false perceptions, but the Dems are not the ones creating those false perceptions. She is also implying the false dichotomy that Dems are doing all this, but none of that.
