Well, I believe your "friends" to be politically stupid, however "smart" they seem. And success isn't governed by smart, in any case; it is often governed by connections and privilege. I also have to believe that they have no understanding of what the coming authoritarianism -- in the hands of true morons -- will mean for them and their portfolios in very short order, not to mention the US being cut off on the world stage and weakened to the point of invasion. So if an intelligent person actually buys in to the MAGA lies, they are either not intelligent or they are deliberately obtuse because they profit from those lies. Both are dangerous.
