On DeSantis not “throwing the brick”… the mind-numbing thing of it all, is if Trump IS indicted, we CAN expect DeSantis (and everyone else running in the GOP primary) to throw bricks at the Justice Department/Georgia case for bringing the indictments. The cowardice is unbelievable.

(first, let me be clear - I absolutely do NOT want DeSantis as President)
Perhaps I'm alone in my thinking on this, but I actually think DeSantis' current strategy is sound. He can realistically claim: "'People' (ahem) hate how successful I've been in the free state of Florida. Of course they're going to attack me - I'm sure they're going to get much worse, and it will be pathetic to watch."
It just kind of puts him above the fray, like everything else is inconsequential to him. "I don't feel I need to respond to desperate people attacking me - I'm focused on delivering to my constituents" yada yada yada. Ignoring Trump can be successful (worked for Kemp!)
It's like standing toe-to-toe with Trump, and having Trump slug him hard in the face, and it doesn't phase him and he just smiles. Or better yet, imagine casually straight-arming Trump, and Trump is swinging his arms wildly but can't reach DeSantis. "I'm the giant tough guy, you're the pathetic weakling"
I welcome those who care to explain why I'm wrong, but I could see that working. I do not think the strategy of attacking Trump and potentially turning off base voters is going to work. "2016 Trump was great, but that time is over. I'm what's best for the country these days"
I think you're right. Trump hurls and he allows it, doesn't react. There's something I remember hearing about Eastern martial arts once long ago where you allow the blow. It dissolves the conflict. Can't find it tho.
I agree, right now it IS working. Why would DeSantis change his approach until it isn't working?
When you're hot, you're hot, and when you're not, you're not, and Trump is apparently NOT right now. Maybe a good proportion of Trump voters are ready to let Trump go with a salute and a "well, I liked his policies, but he's too polarizing." Leaving aside the question as to whether Trump actually HAD policies, Sarah's focus groups and plenty of others are saying "let's move on," and are sending a message by giving DeSantis good polling numbers.
Maybe a hostile confrontation is in the future, but right now DeSantis can look at Trump's gradually ebbing support and tell himself, "It's working fine."

"The cowardice is unbelievable."???
C'mon man, we're talking about Republicans.

Ron is the 7-footer with his hand atop the head of the 5-footer as he windmills his fists in Ron’s direction.
