Harvard Law School explains a lot. It just goes to my experience that people with high academic achievement are myopic in their thought process. You cannot even spot the cognitive dissonance and lack of critical thinking in your response. You drift off in criticizing Trump's personality and project what he feels and cares about.
My experience with high academic types is that for all their academic gifts, they often lack emotional intelligence and suck at really reading people for who they are.
Trump destroying democracy? LOL That is rich given the destruction billionaire boys club puppet in the white house today.
I have never been a fan of Trump's personality. However, his platform was near Reaganesk and what the country needs. I don't get all wee weed up about a Tweet.
You are entitled to your opinion. Policies are important. I am a big fan of Bill Clinton's presidency because of his ideology and policies, even though I would not defend his character.
But with Trump, he attempted to steal the 2020 election, was complicit in the January 6th riot, is supportive of the rioters, and continues to push his ridiculous fraudulent election claims. In addition to this seditious behavior, he was a combination of clueless and dishonest on COVID, and his presidency was very fiscal irresponsible. Trump's presidency was not successful from a policy perspective.
What is the appeal of the guy? Even if you can't bring yourself to vote for Democrats, why not support other Republicans against Trump? Why not support Liz Cheney, or Ben Sasse, or Mitt Romney instead of Trump?
Lol. Those three are establishment hacks that virtue signal for popularity in support of the Democrat drift toward American destruction. The modern Dems need to be destroyed for what they have become. To save the country. Once the Dem party collapses it will split. And then it will safe to vote for feckless establishment Republicans again.
How do you think the Democratic Party is leading America to destruction? Please give some examples of Democrat policies that you think will destroy America.
In general, they are in deep with the WEF EU globalists and the billionaire boys club bent on leveraging the pandemicтАж exploiting it for the Great Reset project which requires the final destruction of the American working class. These billionaires own the corporate media and controlling interest in most major multinational corporations and big tech. They are working together with the Dems who primarily help them consolidate more power and wealth. By forcing more working class Americans out of economic self sufficiency and into dependency, more people will be forced to vote for the party that will take care of them. Today small business are being crushed, and families are falling further behind. Meanwhile society is being rerouted to benefit the billionaires and the billionaires are rewarding the politicians that help them.
The idiot American upper middle professional class has been duped into supporting this with propagandized news to foment political tribal war. The left educated class carry the water of the billionaires to what will eventually be their destruction too.
No country the size and ethnic diversity of the US will survive with a weak middle class. The fact that is has been weakened already is why we have been coming apart at each otherтАЩs throats. The Dems are attempting to put a jackboot on the neck of the independent working class once and for all. They crave a subservient people for their own power and wealth (look at Putin and XiтАЩs wealth compared to their measly DC politician pay).
Populism, such as what you advocate, is terrible economics and ignores the lessons of history. Populism, whether the right wing or left wing version, would, if enacted for a significant period of time, lead to China being the dominant superpower in the 21st Century, not the United States. Chinese hegemony in the 21st Century is the existential threat to American democracy, not your crazed theory of a conspiracy between Democrats, big business, and billionaires to destroy the American middle class.
Economics tells us, and history confirms, that government mandated economic protectionism will hurt more people than it helps, whether wealthy, middle class, poor, or anywhere in between. To maintain American supremacy in the 21st Century, the U.S. needs more global capitalisn, not less.
I like John McCain's proposal of a League of Democratic Nations. I would include a broad free trade agreement among all democratic nations.
Capitalism is simply the best economic system ever developed. That does not mean everyone wins from capitalism. Quite the contrary. A fundamental feature of capitalism is creative destruction. Some people get extremely wealthy, and others are "creatively destroyed" out of a career\job. Others lose their careers\jobs because of imports. But capitalism creates more job opportunities through economic growth. Populist isolationism, such as you advocate, as already been tried, and as shown to be an abysmal failure.
The billionaires, Big Tech, etc. that you decry are actually the natural result of capitalism. I am not sure why you are a fan of Reagan, as he was very much a globalist. Instead of asking you why you support Trump instead of Liz Cheney, Ben Sasse, or Mitt Romney, I should of asked you why you support Trump over Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, or AOC.
