Sometimes I think I'm the only person on the planet who didn't find Blazing Saddles particularly funny. Now Airplane, that was hilarious.
The parts are definitely greater than the whole. The ending was a complete mess. Young Frankenstein, on the other hand, is one of the funniest movies ever made.
Oh sweet mystery of life I've finally found you!
Inspector Kemp is my favorite.
Do you KempтАЩs character is inspired in part by Dr. Strangelove (only he has control of his arm)? https://youtu.be/zZct-itCwPE
TBH I never thought about it much. Hmmmmm. I have no answer at this point because it has been decades since I watched Stangelove).
Wow! The latter, teenage "humor" vs. cultural satire of the period. Okay.ЁЯди
Mel Brooks is, I think, an acquired taste. I can fully understand not finding it funny and instead finding it offensive.
Watching it (or some other Brooks stuff) is an experience is cognitive dissonance.
I don't think I'll ever be over Macho Grande.
