The painful lesson I learned last November is that it's not just "its own voters," meaning the hopelessly committed MAGA base, who are like that, but also most "swing voters," such as those who voted for Biden in '20 and Trump in '24. That latter group is what decided both elections, and which will decide the one in '28. They won't have Biden to blame for the price of eggs or their loss in health care, but unfortunately it's still easy to push their emotional buttons to the point of them saying "thank you, sir, may I have another?"
