In the 1950s there was also still A Lot of animosity between English and Afrikaans speaking folks. There were Afrikaans grandmothers alive who had almost starved to death in the British concentration camps for women and children, set up during the Anglo-Boer wars.
In the 1950s, if you were poor English, really the only people you could look down on were the Afrikaners. Add to that, simmering animosity.
I think this burns inside Errol till today. Here's the thing. Errol has at least as many wives and even a daughter-wife as Elon. After Maye, the mother of Kimball Elon and Tosca, these women are all Afrikaans, and the children of these marriages, half Afrikaans.
Later thisyear there is going to be a wedding in the States of one of these half Afrikaans daughters. Errol might or might not go. The reason, his half Afrikaans daughter has found herself a dumb as a Rock future husband. Whether Errol attends the nuptuals or not, the minute she marries this man, her Musk money gets cut off.
For context, in my youth in the early 1970s - there was still animosity between English and Afrikaans. They called us Rooinekke (Red Necks, the burned necks of British soldiers fresh off the boat to fight in the Anglo Boer war), and/or Soutpiele (salty dicks - English speakers supposedly having one foot in England. one foot in SA, and our dicks dangling in the sea in between). For our part we called the The Rocks. As in Dumb as a Rock.
It is an interesting point for this reason. Errol has married and had children with numerous Afrikaans people. Peopple that he absolutely has zero respect for. If you know the cues, you pick it up. His animosity clearly is so bad that his half Afrikaans daughter choosing for herslef a full blood Afrikaner is a step too far for Errol. But essentially what this tells you is this - Errol, and I would say Elon, will get into bed with folks for whom they have Zero respect. Contempt even. They will make it look like a happy marriage. Really, all they're doing is Fffing that person to get what they want.
