A candidate who doesn't have the ability today to be seen as "authentic" won't stand a chance of winning an election. Voters have always had the ability to sniff out the "fakes". The old guard is now seen as afraid of everything and in this new brash political environment this translates to "weak". It is a reversal of previous political measurements and data analysis, based on the idea that truth is no longer respected by the population. We've now injected spin into our world to the extent that we can justify poor, unethical voting decisions in whichever way that individually benefits us materially or supports our incomplete, selfish worldview.

The political data analyst that develops a scale of "authenticity" using actual data points will make bank in the next two elections.
