"Sees Israel as a western colony."

Ignorant anti-Semitism is every bit as bad as deliberate anti-Semitism.

"there are really different perspectives on issues like this"

People are entitled to their own opinions. They are not entitled to their own facts. Whether they are Robert Kennedy or some Puerto Rican "Activist".

Sorry i adamantly disagree. People have all they can do just to live their lives. The woman is raising a teenager alone. And since Puerto Rican - she really is focused on the prejudices she has noticed against herself. She is also a working class girl - I assume she hears many more hispanic voices that you do.

Have you ever spent time around hispanics? My town is 70 % hispanic - different perspective.

I have for the past 24 years lived in a majority Hispanic County -- 55% as of the last estimates. And my wife was born in Mexico.

Ok then you are simply unable to accept that across cultures folks see things differently. In NJ I argue all the time with no white folks who tell me that unless Mikie Sherrill condemns Israel that she wont get the non white Hispanic vote. If you see the view of these hispanic folks as ignorant anti semitism you are blind to the way too numerous ideas that exists in the many cultures around the world. My mother's family came from the Russian Empire - her parents and 2 sisters were born overseas. I also have Jews in my extended family - so am fully on the side of Israel. But.... It is really being obtuse to assume the an hispanic person will have enough interest in the obscure topic of zionism to understand things as you do. .......... I see so much more thought devoted to how the Americas were colonized - and how the whites remained in charge. Again to dismiss havin an entirely differnt point of view is to tell me that you cant' grasp how different the populations in hte Americas are from the Europeans..

There is no "non white Hispanic vote". There are many different "Hispanic" voting blocs and they are very different. And race is much less of an issue in most Hispanic cultures. The fact that you even use the term shows that you really don't know what you are talking about.

And I double down on my statement that anyone who sees Israel as a Western Colony is an ignorant anti-Semite. Particularly ironic given that the United States actually IS an settler colonialist state, and your own ancestors were colonists from Russia as you admitted.

You are acting as an imperialist. And I have no idea where you live but in NY and NJ those whose language and culture came from what were once Spanish colonies - at least here, do continually remind me that they are not me - not white. So you and I live in different bubbles but pols like AOC are good examples of what I see in my town (Dover NJ). The there is less race consciousness in their home countries does not mean that they did not feel some racism here.

Re a settler colony.... I see the US as a settle colony. But I also see Israel as an imposition upon a part of what was the Ottoman Empire. While I see why Jews settled there - to attribute anti-semitism to those who were pushed aside is to dismiss the real concerns of the people who lived in the Levant.

But re my ancestors - we were much like the Jews - the US was a lifeboat. and by the time my ancestors came in 1911 - well the Indians had been moved out already.

You seem wedded to the idea that all must see things as you do.

PS - almost all or maybe all the territorial divisions made at the end of WW2 failed. So Korea and Vietnam. Also divisions in Germany and Austria.

If I had a Time Machine I would go back to 1946 and remind those who wanted to divide the land to listen to the Arab anger.

Enmity exists across all cultures.

"the US was a lifeboat"

Only prior to World War 1.

"by the time my ancestors came in 1911 - well the Indians had been moved out already.

"

Yes even your family benefitted from ethnic cleansing.

"remind those who wanted to divide the land to listen to the Arab anger."

The alternative to division was a state where Arabs outnumbered Jews by 2 to 1. Note that the Zionists accepted the partition plan and no Arab ruler did.
