It’s hard for me to imagine that in January 2022 people in government and even Anne Applebaum didn’t think Putin would actually invade Ukraine. It seemed so blatantly obvious that an invasion was being prepared with the troop buildup on the border.
A similar troop and equipment buildup is happening now along the border with Finland. Personally, I think WW3 is just around the corner. A later interview than this one with Fiona Hill, she said we were already in WW3. HR McMaster, in an episode of GoodFellows right before the election, said he expected WW3 to begin in 2027. Perhaps you could address this question soon in one of your 2025 episodes? McMaster was asked about Trump v Harris, which one was more capable of dealing with the next world war. He said “neither of them”.
