Why is anyone surprised that Ukraine didn't consult the US about this weekend's strike? When we cut off aid, we also cut off our influence. Surely the folks who are restoring our greatness were aware of this.

Seems like an easy risk/reward calculation for Ukraine when we consider that intel says those planes were going to be used that evening by Russia to start the summer offensive. I like how Zelenskyy pitched it on social media as a defensive move to save civilian lives. Hopefully he received good vibes from Graham/Blumenthal that hinted the sanction legislation would not be at risk. I haven't heard any change in direction from the Senate so hopefully a veto proof majority still exists.

Ukraine was plotting it for a year and a half, they didn't tell the Biden administration either it would seem. If anything, they are doing the US a favor--Ukraine's actions were technically within the bounds of what the US approves of them doing, but I think knowledge ahead of time would have made either administration nervous. So Ukraine surprised everyone--this kept the US from being nervous, and it allows the US to claim ignorance when engaging Russia.

The Ukranians are doing just fine without Trumps "help". Maybe private security institutions and individuals, along with the Europeans, are a better answer for Zelensky than the MAGAverse of sleaze and duplicity that currently goes along with US support.

Re the future for America..get out there on June 14, everyone! There are 1,400 protests around the US, so no excuses! We need 20+ million on the streets!

Trump was pissed, saying "We should have been told. America deserves to lead."

So after cutting off aid to Ukraine and ambushing Zelenskyy in the Oval Office, treating him like dirt, Trump still expected to be kept in the loop on all of Ukraine's top secret military plans anyway, so he could promptly sell the information to Putin. You can't make this stuff up.

It's safer for the Ukraine to leave us out for now.

Of course (!!!) Ukraine didn't tell the US (i.e., Trump). By his words and actions he has shown himself to be an enemy to them and an ally to their invader. It would be nuts for them not to keep it secret from the US.

I’m not surprised. The Ukrainians were probably afraid that Trump would blast the news on social media. Keeping a secret is not one of Trump’s strong points 😬

True, but more importantly we don't have any leverage over Ukraine. The US was left in the dark because our influence is gone. Way to make us great!

What can you expect from an intelligence service run by Tulsi Gabbard? Maybe she

will go back to Hawaii and meditate on it.
