The Bulwark — the home of Charlie Sykes, Tim Miller, Bill Kristol, and more — is looking for an experienced social media manager to help share our articles, newsletters, podcasts, and live events with the world. The ideal candidate is a creative professional with a strong interest in politics and the politics of culture. You will be the voice of the Bulwark on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit and other important platforms.
The Bulwark is a news network launched in 2018 dedicated to providing political analysis and reporting free from the constraints of partisan nonsense. It publishes smart politics and culture commentary from a variety of viewpoints.
Job description:

Develop effective and creative social media campaigns.

Maintain a brand voice to ensure consistency across all social media platforms.

Develop KPIs for each platform, with a clear path to achieve and track against key benchmarks.

Coordinate with the team to consistently promote the Bulwark’s messages and products.

Monitor engagement and seize opportunities for optimization and growth.

Keep up to date on trends, platform rules, and competitor activity across all platforms.

Respond to comments, when appropriate, to create positive communities.

Keep organized with a content calendar.

At least two years experience in managing social media accounts and communities (preferably related to politics or media) across several platforms.

A keen interest in following politics/current issues.

Strong research skills to identify quality social content.

Familiarity with audiences, technical limitations, and content types for Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and other social media platforms.

Experience creating original content for social media.

Ability to react quickly in response to the news cycle.
