I assume the headline is a rhetorical question, but I'll answer it anyway. Of course, they know whose health care they're cutting. Their "base" at least as much as Never-Trump voters. Probably more, since the former includes more low-info types who won't make the smartest decisions about their health care. But they do like to say: "Thank you sir, may I have another?"
Much fodder for Democrat hit pieces--which they should be running right now until July 4. Certainly that would be a better way to spend $20M instead of "how to speak to men" research. It's hard for me to believe that there has been so little outcry. This crisis has danger and opportunity. Let's get up on all media and shout the truth so that even MAGA gets that they are about to be screwed.
Do you think it is possible to fully fund “red” state rural hospitals and cut all the “blue” state city services? There would be collateral damages but the trend of this administration has been severely biased to punishing “blue” states and entities.
The problem is there's so much happening at once the health care cuts are lost in the fog. And no matter what Republicans do they aren't losing in west Virginia and Alabama.
I was a diabetes educator for years. I recall numerous patients who were finally able to get insurance after the ACA was implemented. Some were downright tearful they were at last able to afford the medications and care they desperately needed. Neglecting diabetes care leads to tremendous suffering and higher costs due to increased hospitalization and ER visits that could have been prevented. Same goes for asthma. A country filled with a population in poor health is not a strong country.
Yes, Republicrats fully realize what they are doing - it is all part of Project 2025 which they voted for and support. Under the plan social programs are to be transformed into profit centers for the 1% under an autocratic regime ruling for the benefit of the T. Rump criminal enterprise. Nothing to see here, move along.
Why would Congressional Republicans care about health care cuts for their constituents? Their constituents will pick up the Fox News version of this and they won’t care until their own local hospital closes or a family member cannot get care. Will they be upset then or say they hate government programs?
There’s an obvious reason why the MAGAs want to pass this unpopular bill in spite of its unpopularity: they know there won’t be a fair election. Everything they are doing is evidence they don’t fear losing.
What's riskier - incurring T's wrath for failure to support the bill, or supporting the bill and then blaming D's for its effects? Might as well take chance that low-info voters will buy the bull shit.
Succinctly put: the GOP thinks many Americans have too much health coverage and the wealthy and corporations have too little money. (I believe I'm paraphrasing Mr. Cohn from a video he was in).
The Musk Tax Cut Bill makes no sense. Think of a family that has to replace the roof, HVAC, and save for college for the kids. The husband and wife decide on a solution, borrow money and buy a Ferrari for him and Bentley for her.
They might figure out, like with the Icestapo vs. immigrants, how to gut health care for blue states without hurting the grey states (oops, grey seems much more apropro than red states when it comes to the cause of a civil war.)
The R grifters simply don't care about anything except increasing the wealth of their already wealthy puppet-masters. All the culture-war issues are just part of the grift, to get single-issue voters or culture warriors to vote against their own economic interests. This has been true and consistent since Nixon.

When push comes to shove the Republicans are always about the rich getting richer and to hell with everything else.

There are 6 Supremes that would love to have the final say on that idea. So please don't spread any more cannon fodder around.
It's a DEATH CULT😱

Parrotting JVL I would say Trump voters need to “touch the hot stove.” If these cuts mostly affect red states, so be it.

It doesn't bode well for Medicares budgets either..the ACA is trying to make people healthier when they got to 65

They will always blame Democrats, Blacks, illegal immigrants, gays, trans, and the liberal elites.
Sad but true.
