I wish everyone on Substack who has even a smidgen of interest in joining the resistance to the Fourth Reich would start making TRUMP — and NOT “the administration,” or “a spokesman,” or “DHS,” or a cabinet member — the subject of every sentence that discusses the coward-in-chief and his cruelty. Don’t write “the Trump administration used his tattoo”; instead say, “Trump used his tattoo . . . .” Stop misplacing the blame for what is happening in the Reich in sentences such as “this administration is using sports as a way of disappearing people” and put the weight where it belongs: “Trump is using sports . . . “ Give no credit to a “spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security” for saying “that Hernández Romero’s social media indicated that he was a gang member.” That’s what Trump thinks. Say his name! “Trump said that Hernandez . . . “ Stop letting the tired, insane old man off the hook. Catch, and don’t release.

Foreign countries accepting American deportees should be heavily boycotted. If this can be achieved in even small measure, perhaps these foreign countries may tell the Trump regime to keep their own prisoners. Then we could reduce or stop deporting innocent people to torture prisons or death camps. If detained here in the U.S., there is a chance the innocent will be freed during or after the Trump regime.
I feel far beyond sad to know that ordinary innocent people, men, women and children are being used a pawns by our criminal government. And I feel so helpless.
American used to be a world leader in fighting human rights abuses, including the prison in El Salvador where their president says nobody ever leaves alive. We should be against this atrocity with every fiber of our national being. Instead, we are sending people to these concentrations camps? Someone please wake me up from this nightmare!
My wife, as well as many of my friends and colleagues, are legal immigrants. They are all in fear of international travel, saying something that could offend Trump, or otherwise getting caught in the dragnet. They are scrubbing media profiles, considering the purchase of “travel” phones and double-checking compliance with every obscure statute on the books.
Is anyone else as angry over the idea these ICE agents are/have to hide their faces behind masks or under hoods? My God, have we become that much a third-tier shit-hole country? Ashamed of what we are, what we do and how we do it?
Andry José Hernández Romero's story does indeed need to be heard far and wide, and it needs to be repeated, ... often. Lindsay Toczylowski's (Andry's lawyer) words, i.e. " ... every bit of attention helps" ring true. Toczylowski continued, stating "When people stop caring about what is happening, she said, Andry’s story will fade away— 'and then he will fade away.' ” Toczylowski is spot on. Toczylowski's assertion applies as well to the little-known story of the UN-backed Commission Against Impunity in Guatemala, the "CICIG", its demise (shuttered during Sept. 2019); the story of how its demise was brought about (i.e. the alleged QUID PRO QUO between Trump and then Guatemala President Jimmy Morales, - & - the influence campaign, of which the so-called BITKOV case was pivotal); and the ramifications of the CICIG's demise, i.e. migration out of Guatemala having "increased exponentially", and then, from the so-called Northern Triangle countries of Central America, i.e. Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, migration having "exploded". The CICIG was a source country program that was regarded as "stellar example of what worked" in challenging CORRUPTION in Guatemala, regarded as the most urgent of the "push factors" driving migration from Guatemala. It received "international acclaim" and overwhelming domestic support with polls during 2017 reported to show it as "Guatemala's most trusted institution". And then, U.S. funding for the CICIG was blocked during May 2018, causing it to be shuttered during September 2019. I would like to see Adrian revisit the matter of the CICIG and its demise. While there was open-source reporting on the CICIG during [largely] the 2018-2022 time period, I feel it's safe to say that 98% to 99% of American voters have never even heard of the CICIG. The COVID crisis, with all of the illnesses, deaths, shortages and supply chain disruptions, appears to have overshadowed the matter of the CICIG. With the demise of the CICIG having directly impacted the border crisis and - continuing to impact the border crisis up to the present day -, we can't let the story of the CICIG "fade away".
I did hear Bukele was facing pressure from Venezuela and Mexico and questioning the legality of the deportees , I think more to do with these governments than the USA . Oil from Venezuela and I don’t remember the pressure from Mexico. He’s feeling it. That’s cautiously hopeful.
I was shocked today when my father told me undocumented people don’t get due process. I said do you know what the constitution says about Due Process. Even if he read it hes been told by Fox what it says that if you’re hear illegally it doesn’t apply to them.
"Donald Trump’s mass-deportation agenda is hurting individuals, communities, and businesses." Worst is yet to come. Donald "The Beast" Trump is building a wall once again. Colossal tariff wall that is the beginning of the end for the system of down. At first the beast will pull the plug out of the global economy. The worst financial crisis of human history will pull a swarm of the banks underwater and the bank run begins. Then the beast will collapse a mountain of debt shattering the backbone of the monetary system causing a systemic risk to realize. Finally the beast will cast American citizens into a system slavery under the name of Ronald Wilson Reagan, just to "honor his legacy" count the number. After the destruction a new world order will be established in the US. And the Golden Age begins from the ruins of the world wide collapse. All of the system slaves will love it. No more cash - just digital transactions. No more traditional criminal activity. No more tax evasion. No more transactions without the "all seeing eye". Outcasts will hate the world without freedom, hope and privacy. To cover up the mess and distract the public by smoke and mirrors, the beast will engage in a war with Iran. Lies and deceit, corruption and decay, dancing on the graves will continue. Until; Black hole sun, won't you come, won't you come... I want to play a game. Time has come to opt out of the empire of filth. Live or die...

The Democrats and everyone else has got to start calling them 'The Disappeared'. Short and to the point. Something that will stick in people's heads.

It’s disgusting that has come to this.
Is anyone else as angry over the idea these ICE agents are/have to hide their faces behind masks or under hoods? My God, have we become that much a third-tier shit-hole country? Ashamed of what we are, what we do and how we do it?
Freaking shameful.
Yes it is insanely disgusting and so cowardly

Interesting. I have not heard about this program. Thanks for the info
Adrian is a vital voice at The Bulwark. I look forward to reading him every week.
