Re: Tariff I just picked up flea/tick medicine for our two dogs and the price went up about 16% or $10 per prescription . This medicine is made in Japan, so this has NO tariff - YET. I am thinking that this a pre-tariff hike so when the 25% is fully applied, it won't be so bad or, in MAGA blurbs: The optics will be better.

Beware of the Trojan horse. Qatar has a relationship with Iran and Hamas. Who services this plane? Who has access? What secret listening devices will be included? Don't tell me how security sweeps the plane all for these devices on a regular basis. They have been demoralized and their value diminished by the administration.

I don't know what to make of someone like Loomer who is more upset about a monetary gift than about ICE kidnapping actual people.

If "Evil starts when you begin to treat people as things" (Sir Terry Pratchett), what do we call it when people value things more than people?

Consumerism and materialism seem to be weak words for whatever this is. Are we less valuable than the things we own?

I don't know, I don't think we have the imagination to really cut free from the rule of law. But it's coming, no doubt. You can't have a society where there are no laws for the Top 10 Earners. It doesn't work that way, as you've probably noticed. What are we now, where laws don't matter and the past is rewritten and people's possessions have more rights than they do? Do we know what this change is going to look like in practice? I haven't seen anyone game it out yet.

This summer is going to be insane. I am seriously thinking of reclaiming my idea from Trump's first term of founding a commune where nobody is allowed to live but me. I'll put up a big sign that you have to care about people more than things here, and that will keep most people away.

Because the administration is so incompetent the initiative on drug pricing will ultimately be led by the drug companies that will make it to their advantage and will only provide limited relief on few drugs

Who's surprised? No one enforced the emolument clause during the first term, so of course he has decided to really cash in this time. The entire family is a criminal enterprise. Not one of them has any shame.

Bulwark Folks: Can you please use your power and connections to get Dem electeds to start a daily news report called something like "Corruption Chronicles" so they can begin to get the message out that they are fighting all of the Trumpian stealing-- of tax dollars, of public services, public rights-- in a consistent way, with regular messaging? If Dems are smart about getting the word out on a daily basis, people will start tuning in to a daily briefing of this type, thereby strengthening and unifying Dem electeds' resistance. People will start expecting their coverage, just like Bulwark subscribers start expecting daily communications from you. Right now, Dem. voters are still castigating their elected reps for not being vociferous, consistent, and loud enough. Please help before voters start getting tired of the Dem. disarray and lack of unified messaging--and give up and sink into hopelessness.

It would be too bad if everybody started calling Trump's Qatari plane the Golden Goose.

Good to see the former leader of the former free world is limiting himself to only one free flying foreign emolument (for now).

"Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day,” which had ground trade between the two nations to a virtual standstill." Worst is yet to come. Donald "The Beast" Trump is building a wall once again. Colossal tariff wall that is the beginning of the end for the system of down. At first the beast will pull the plug out of the global economy. The worst financial crisis of human history will pull a swarm of the banks underwater and the bank run begins. Then the beast will collapse a mountain of debt shattering the backbone of the monetary system causing a systemic risk to realize. Finally the beast will cast American citizens into a system slavery under the name of Ronald Wilson Reagan, just to "honor his legacy" count the number. After the destruction a new world order will be established in the US. And the Golden Age begins from the ruins of the world wide collapse. All of the system slaves will love it. No more cash - just digital transactions. No more traditional criminal activity. No more tax evasion. No more transactions without the "all seeing eye". Outcasts will hate the world without freedom, hope and privacy. To cover up the mess and distract the public by smoke and mirrors, the beast will engage in a war with Iran. Lies and deceit, corruption and decay, dancing on the graves will continue. Until; Black hole sun, won't you come, won't you come... I want to play a game. Time has come to opt out of the empire of filth. Live or die...

Stephen Miller is about as subtle and sophisticated as a large ball peen hammer. If he says that they're going to trash Constitutional rights, then they are going to try to trash Constitutional rights, and Senator Klobuchar is living in dreamtime. Either that, or she spent too much of this last Minnesota Winter outside bareheaded.

Why would a presidential library need a plane?

You'd think they'd come up with something better than that.

EDIT: I figured it out! The library will be INSIDE the plane, the walls lined with gold framed signed EO's, a map of the Gulf of America with a fake hurricane, with McDonald's and KFC menus on the tables.

Why would a President who doesn't read and supports banning books want a library? So we can visit and read his erudite speeches? So scholars can research the well-planned health care initiatives? Or is it just so we can practice Russian translating?

It's the usual gaslighting. Of course Trump doesn't care about an actual library, and I'm tired of everyone pretending.

The Reagan library has his old AF1, which it got AFTER it was decommissioned. Apparently, it's a popular exhibit.

He was very grumpy about how long Boeing was taking to deliver him his shiny new AF1, which every president deserves. So he had to go ahead and let Qatar fill the breach with a free "palace in the sky". All security upgrades at taxpayers' expense, however. When/if he leaves in 2028, he flies high indeed. Don't mind the Chemtrails, Bobby.

why must these articles always end with: "This isn’t about (fill in the blank). It’s about us."

No thank you. My time and treasure will always be for Democrats. This is what Repugs did (and continue) to do to the sane among us.

I agree, but the beast of MAGA has been with America since the beginning, at times fed by Democrats (during Reconstruction and Jim Crow) but since Nixon it's been fed, nurtured, then set loose by the Republicans. Now they've been devoured and the country's next on their menu.
