If there’s a drug that can turn an accused decrepit 80 year-old into a dynamic brainiac, I’m 63, sign me up now. I’ll pay cash.

Tracey Henley's avatar

Does it work on knees? I want it to work on knees.

Angie's avatar

Me too...my knees are trying to kill me...lol

Lynne Larkin's avatar

There does seem t o be one that turns an obese 78-yr-old douche into a raving ranting lunatic. Interested? :)

Tracey Henley's avatar

Hey, I’ve taken Adderall. It didn’t turn me into a ranting lunatic.

Lynne Larkin's avatar

Results may vary. Especially if you’re using it for on-label reasons.

Tracey Henley's avatar

It increased my focus, but it elevated my blood pressure and didn’t clear my system in time to let me sleep at night. ☹️

my kids have ADHD. Adderall and the stimulant meds made them into grumpy bears. The non-stim ADHD meds like Strattera and Vyvanse, worked much better.

Maggie's avatar

Vyvanse is a stimulant, but it's what's called a pro-drug. You take the inactive medication, and your liver converts it into the active form. This means the concentration of the *active* drug stays at a pretty steady state, and you don't get the ups and downs you get with the various formulations of Adderall or methylphenidate (ritalin/focalin).

This pro-drug aspect also deters abuse. You can't snort it for a high.

Wellbutrin and Guanfacine are the other FDA approved non-stimulants.

Tracey Henley's avatar

I’ve taken Vyvanse. In fact, most of my fam takes V at the moment. Same effect as the Adderall, but the time release is gentler. Sadly, it ups my BP too much. However, I’ve discovered a T Swift, which raises my mood like Paxil used to, so I guess that’s a breakthrough of sorts.

No, Trump has ALWAYS been a raving ranting lunatic. This is not a new phenomenon.

HoyaGoon's avatar

Speed. It's called "speed". Ask your doctor for for more info!

Lynne Larkin's avatar

Hoya Loya here, helps with law school, so I’m told.

Josh's avatar

Seriously. Like I thought drugs were bad but man that adenochrome must be the good stuff.

Joe, one thing I really like about your columns is that you cover details that aren't talked about or covered elsewhere in The Bulwark. Thanks for your coverage once again!

I'm surprised that Dr. Johnson didn't stipulate that BOTH debaters should take a drug test.

Oh, no, wait a minute - I'm NOT surprised. . .

Jeff's avatar

I hope the White House doctor replied and told Ronny Johnson to pound sand.

When it comes to the GOP, always remember - every accusation is a confession

Donald Koller's avatar

This Ronny Johnson sounds like a real dick.

Pick your response:

1) And your first clue was....?

2) As opposed to a dildo? (Longer lasting/Lo-o-o-o-o-n-n-n-ger)

;-)

Duhrew's avatar

Dark Brandon should take the drug test if "you know who" does the same ... Why not also have Doc Ronny Johnson take one too...

Runfastandwin's avatar

Should've been a court martial...

Did he lose his medical license? If not, he should!

Don't you just love the way

MAGA salts the earth/debate

with innuendo.

I want to see Trump ride a

bike and do a workout like

President Biden does every

day at 81 years old. Strip him

down and let's get a look at

that massive mound of flab.

Dave Yell's avatar

Some things you just couldn't un see.

Josh's avatar

Hey no judgement here but do we have to?

David Morse's avatar

Biden should take Trump and Jackson’s bait - take the cognitive test Trump says he “aced” six years ago and a drug test, but only if Trump submits to a brain scan that could confirm his DSM-V diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder.

"He’s unbothered, moisturized, in his lane, etc." I've had a very long day driving to Laredo but this bit made me giggle and kick my feet lol. The Reagan quote is absolutely perfect. Saint Ronny understood who the real threat to America is, those crazy, strung out leftists on college campuses, who support rights for women and queers, and minorities and the environment, and those terrifying Black Panthers (!) with their free school lunch program, and using the 2nd Amendment against itself, to arm themselves, like gangsters and thugs, against the good and godly whites.

I love how they're all just using bullhorns now, instead of dog whistles. If we go the way of The Handmaid's Tale, it's because too many Americans refuse to accept that this is where it's been heading for decades. Some of us are just more aware (woke?) because we're in red states but never drank the kool-aid, and have been preparing for what's coming.

“The reactions to Good’s travails from Van Orden and the rest of the Republicans have been both pathetic and telling: When Trump challenges election results on spurious pretexts, he is fighting for Americans; when Good does it, he’s a weak loser who should stop crying wolf.” – Well said. And so true. And so not-on-the-radar for the Trumplicants.

But why is Bannon trying to raise money for a recount when Trump likes the results the way they are?

SDWade's avatar

You’re really hitting your stride. I love your style. To paraphrase Fleetwood Mac: You make politicin’ fun. Your Easter eggs are the best. Loved the glimpse of one of my favorite actors, Peter Lorre.

Shirley Peck's avatar

Well, MAGAs are downright crazy. I do hope that they get to fall into the traps of their own making.

Since Jackson was the WH physician across the Obama and Trump terms, wouldn’t he be aware of medications they both were taking? Or would he only know about the president? Or maybe he was unaware of everything due to self-medicatiin?
