You guys are going to hate today’s newsletter. The only subjects that perform worse than foreign policy are tech and finance. 1. Mortality
I’ve always wanted to write a novel about vampires that focused on real estate.
The fundamental fact of the vampire is not that he drinks blood. It’s that he’s immortal. Capitalism requires mortality. If you have an immortal being—a vampire—he can accumulate an infinite amount of capital over centuries and wind up as the king of the world.
In my story, the vampire wouldn’t concern himself with luring young maidens to his castle to feast on their blood. Instead, he’d buy
