Certainly the Trumps know that Republicans or Proud Boys aren't the only ones armed and ready to fight back, right? Why aren't they worried about the old, armed people who were educated in philosophy classes that asked us to imagine that if we could go back in time and kill Hitler knowing what we know now, would we? Asked to wrestle with the moral dilemma that presents for our final exams, maybe rethinking our point of view now that we actually see him... Aren't they at all concerned?

Biden is clearly having problems perfórming his duties now, not to mention his connections and payments included through his son Hunter's connections in the crime/drug warlords. Keeping our borders open after so much was spent to keep these very people out, it house trip open to whoever wanted trip leaving us vulnerable to invasion from our own enemies who wish to harm or kill us right here on our own homeland. For our own safety, we Can Not afford to keep him for the next year, Much Less Re-Elect Him ! We Already Are Extremely Close To WW3. Trump deserves a FAIR CHANCE at A Second Term In Office, At least we were not a hair away from WW3 or incoherent mumblings.

Thank you for your thoughts on this topic. I spent 20+ years living and working in dictatorship countries and was shocked when I first started to listen to Trump's rheortic and speeches filled with distain and hatred toward others - just about everyone! It scared me enough to write my first book and do a comparison of Trump's speeches to Putin, Hitler, and others. www.democrazy2020.org

TRUMPLER: narcissistic-sociopathic-criminal-thug, corrupt cheater, possesses no knowledge of history, no future vision, no economic understanding, is heartless and undisciplined.

He bloviates, lies, brags, divides, name-calls.

He: the destroyer, the toddler, the lizard.

BIDEN: an empathic, a gentle calm seasoned man of experience and bipartisanship, concerned with lifting from bottom, with broadening the middle, with an equitable society, is high-road, possesses future vision, understands history, has a steady hand.

He calms, is honest, inspires, unites.

He: the builder, the adult, the teddy bear.

It’s going to be a hell of a year, but stand firm for our Bluenami.

Biden will beat Trumpler.

If people really believe the imperative for 2024 is not re-electing Biden but stopping Trump, perhaps it is time for them to start acting like it. Imagine you are isolated somewhere and threatened by a dangerous lunatic. You have three possible ways to trap him, each one independent of the others, and plenty of time to do all three without shorting the effort needed for any of them. You would not need a knowledge of game theory or even ordinary probability to see you should do all of them. Well that is where the country is today. Trump is the dangerous lunatic. The courts, the general election, and the primaries are the three ways to stop him. There is little most people can do about the speed of activity in the courts, but those who have political influence should use it to encourage prosecutors to move faster. For the general election those wanting to stop Trump should work toward the Dems nominating the most attractive and broadly acceptable candidate they can find, Biden or otherwise, to face Trump. That leaves the primaries – the place to show that taking every opportunity to stop Trump is a higher priority than doing public relations work for the Dems. People should pick a candidate they think would have the best chance against Trump in the primaries, back that candidate or at least stop carping at him or her, and work for others to drop out, leaving that person one on one with Trump in the spring. It may be a long shot, but it is a shot, and right now neither the courts nor the general looks anything like a sure thing.

At the grocery store this morning I discovered that Archway has released its Christmas pfeffernusse cookies earlier than usual, and I've now eaten five of them (make it six - ate another one while trying to write this) to make myself feel better after reading Charlie's take on the latest polling. Maybe its normal for most people to not pay attention at all to the news -- they just react to God knows what? That's the only way these numbers are possible, right? I can understand some people just being perverse, contrary, and bloodyminded for no good reason --- but a majority?

Suggestions: 1) Stop freaking out. 2) Read this better analysis of the polls from Simon Rosenberg- https://open.substack.com/pub/simonwdc/p/big-elections-tomorrow-more-on-the?r=hulr1&utm_medium=ios&utm_campaign=post

3) Then read about today’s polls, which used a much larger sample size and show Biden ahead. https://www.thecentersquare.com/national/article_9675c988-7a87-11ee-942b-cb66241089a7.html

4) Then read Simon Rosenberg on today’s polls - https://open.substack.com/pub/simonwdc/p/tuesday?r=hulr1&utm_medium=ios&utm_campaign=post

5) Then have another cookie and consider how much credence to attach to Charlie, who is, after all, a former conservative radio host and still takes Paul Ryan and Scott Walker seriously.

Putin's ally in undermining democracy has been Donald Trump. Since I lived and worked in Russia and other dictatorship countries for 20 years, I have been writing about the Putin-Trump relationship and it's impact on our country since 2015. The similarities between these men was a shock to me - Trump behaving just like other dictators worldwide, his lies, his repetitive speeches filled with hatred resembled Putin, Hitler, and even Stalin. Putin is a cold-war era spy whose hatred of the U.S. has only grown and metastasized into a full blown assault on our country in any way possible - cyber-attacks, cultivation of Trump, wars in both Ukraine and Israel (which depletes our resources), and probably hacking into political polls. American followers of Trump resemble the German society who Hitler transformed from a peaceful society into hateful mass murderers. He did this by practicing mass mind manipulation - brainwashing - which has been proven to develop cults of people through listening to hateful speeches over and over. #poitics https://democrazy2020.org

yes, suzc, there's ample evidence, some of it revealed in Israel's Ha'aretz newspaper, which revealed that 'Netanyahu has intentionally propped up Hamas rule in Gaza--seeing Palestinian extremism as a bulwark (!) against a two-state solution to the conflict." (https://www.vox.com/23910086/netanyahu-israel-right-hamas-gaza-war-history). And quoting Netanyahu himself, "Anyone who wants to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state has to support bolstering Hamas and transferring money to Hamas...This is part of our strategy-to isolate Palestinians in Gaza from Palestinians in the West Bank." (2019, at a meeting of his Likud party) The subsequent moves of his administration have followed this strategy.

Perhaps The Bulwark writers can focus less on Biden’s age ( only 3 years older than tRump) & focus their articles on what Biden has accomplished, particularly in international relations. I’m so sick & tired of Charlie Sykes & the rest focusing on the negative! There is NO TIME to pick another Democratic candidate! It’s Joe & it’s time The Bulwark writes some positive stories on his accomplishments.

As to the effect of a conviction on the polls, I wonder if that is a major reason why Trump is so desperately filing motions and appeals, some frivolous, that would delay his federal trials.

Thank you and you are right - we are about to loose our democracy unless the bulk of the Republicans understand that they have become a cult who follows a leader who is a fanatic and most likely operated by the Russians because of his many real estate deals with Russians and/or his potential relationships with professional Russian prostitutes - something he has shown to have a history of in the U.S. Please visit: www.democrazy2020.org and/or read From Democracy to Democrazy by Graham.

Then Charlie Sykes should be writing about this current administration’s many accomplishments. I’m so very tired of the constant focus on tRump! The fact that tRump has even one supporter who will vote for him is astonishing

I subscribe to the belief, as stated by Mr. J V Last, that we have watched BOTH of these men as President for the last 7 years. Assuming most of us still have a viable long-term memory, we KNOW what we are getting when we vote for one of these men. There is no forgotten message that Biden must throw up to convince us that Trump is bad. If Trump wins, it is because the majority of this Country wants Confusion and Chaos and even Violence - like a perpetual Movie

Thank you for your kind words. I am an American who spent the majority of my career living and working in Russia and Central Asia. I became bi-cultural and understand what and how Putin is operating. He blames the U.S. for the breakup of the Soviet Union and he is a Cold-War spy who is still living in the Cold War - doing whatever it takes to destroy his arch enemy - the United States. It is most likely that Trump was compromised during one or more of his many trips to Russia. Every single hotel room in any major city in Russia has cameras and listening devices installed where a foreigner will stay. This is common practice and a carry-over from Communist days. This means probably in the 1990's Trump was photographed with professional Russian women and then probably during the Helsinki Summit, Putin showed Trump his photos. Trump told the American public that he had no contracts, no relationships, and no nothing with Russia - this was just another lie. There are real estate transaction records worth millions that show all his deals with Russians - especially in Florida. A Russian bankrolled the Trump Tower in SoHo in New York. I the majority of naive Republicans in our country vote for Trump - this is a vote for a dictatorship and for Russia's interference in our politics and our way of life. Nothing would make Putin more happy. www.democrazy2020.org.
