Actually we now have a new rule. A Democratic Congressman from Massachusetts tried to read the list of Trump Indictment into the Record. The Speaker Pro Tem declared (after some muddling around) that this was a personal insult and struck the statement from the Record. So, we now have clarification: It is perfectly appropriate to insult a sitting member of the House, so long as the Member is a Female , A Democrat and Black, although not necessarily in that order; on the other truthful statements about a disgraced ex President who seeks to overthrow the Government are insulting to the Speaker's Party with its one seat majority and banned

LOL Just waiting for the "go ahead" from SCOTUS.

So there's a document which includes the words "deadly force", and I have just found another document in this case which has the words "pursuant to directions by former president Trump". So does that mean that Trump ordered a hit on himself? This all gets stranger and stranger.

While I always appreciate the work of the Bulwark writers, and have very much enjoyed Mr. Eggers' contributions, there is a part of me that would have preferred to see the segment on "FBI ready to assassinate Trump" written in a way I could use with my wobbly, not-really-MAGA, definintely-not-pro-Biden, stop-the-steal-curious friends. I always look for Bulwark-generated chances to share a strongly conservative, anti-Trump view. The liberals I know already agree. As do I! But there are a few I'd like to help nudge. Would that this were such a piece!

Is it too conspiratorial to wonder if Trump starts repeatedly complaining about Biden supposedly trying to have him assassinated, is Trump just seeding the ground for when he himself tries to assassinate Biden? Like the way he spent years complaining about election fraud before he himself tried to overturn an election? Do I have Trump Derangement Syndrome? Or is this just what happens when an absolute lunatic takes over an entire political party?

Jim, it's great to see your byline. The top-notch utility player, always ready to step in at any position. 👍🏻

It is to say the least absurd that the fact, FBI agents are authorized to use deadly force is somehow a big surprise to people. 1 t***p knew they were coming and he chose not to be home. And 2 I can't imagine the biggest coward to ever sit in the oval office would put up a fight.

Of course Biden should say "id have immunity... But I didn't kill the ex president. Or the sheriff."

But he'd never say it...

Trump wasn’t even home! If Biden wanted to kill him, he’d bloody well be dead.

Trump ALWAYS accuses his foes of doing , or planning to do with what Trump already is, or is planning to do. He has no imagination about it at all.

Why does Trump want immunity? He's planning on killing his enemies. This isn't rocket science.

Mr. Egger, I beg to differ with

you about the Unified Reich

sloppy editing. It stayed up

for 15 hours. How many views

did it have and how many

shares? Trump and his crew

have been rolling down this

road since 1/6. Perhaps you

should re-read Mein Kamf

and Rise and Fall of the Third

Reich again to see the

echoes that prevail in Trump

rallies and his cadre of

advisors.

Please don't make excuses

for this want to be dictator,

who wants to destroy our

democratic republic and

establish a fascist authoritarian regime.

Has anyone thought to check any similar language in the Biden and Pence search warrants?

Terry Hilldale's avatar

It's bog-standard boilerplate. Everybody who wanted to comb through the Trump search warrant long ago. The issue did not come up because back then even Trump supporters understood it was standard protocol language.

knowltok's avatar

So you're saying the deep state is fully out of control and out to crush any dissent from left or right?!?!!!!!1!!! AHHHHHHHH

Lee Perkins's avatar

I don’t understand your comment. I was just wondering if maybe the language in the Mar-a-Lago search warrant was standard and maybe it appeared in the Biden and Pence search warrants. That would take the air out of any conspiracy theories

Terry Hilldale's avatar

As I recall there were no Pence of Biden search warrants because they self-reported and asked for a search.

knowltok's avatar

It was a joke. Of course similar language applying to all the search warrants. So obviously 'they' are out to get all of them. See, deep state for the win! ;)

”Take a look at where he's from”— And this comes from a man who was born in Queens.

Al Brown's avatar

I hope that someone at the DNC is taking notes. The Biden ads aimed at the various Hispanic communities practically write themselves.

This conspiracy theory, that Joe Biden tried to have Trump assassinated, is another example of the Steve Bannon motto, “Flood the zone with shit.”

They can make up slander faster than anyone else's lips can move.

"It’s worth noting that not just FBI agents are allowed to use deadly force when they’re in imminent danger of death—so are you."

MAGAs all seem to approve of Abbott's pardoning one of their allies who used deadly force against someone who was not actually threatening him with imminent danger., but just lawfully carrying a weapon.

Different rules, apparently.

But given the incriminating evidence against Trump in the document release, MAGA-world had to find something to spin the story in their favor and portray Trump as a victim. It's what they always do.

David Crass's avatar

Um…isn’t Trump arguing that this is legal at the Supreme Court?
