It's a shame that "HE'S" there and all the qualified people are gone. I fear greatly for our country, I don't understand why his boss didn't appoint another Physician, oh wait he wanted "LOYALTY" instead of qualified people because they wouldn't actually tell him what he was doing wrong like a couple of other physicians did the first time around with COVID~

RFK Jr. is dismantling American public health, one smug insinuation at a time. Measles is back—measles!—and three children are dead, while the Secretary of Health and Human Services refuses to unambiguously endorse a vaccine that’s been safe and effective for over fifty years. Instead, he’s playing semantic dodgeball with CBS, casting doubt with sleazy anti-vax dog whistles and mangling basic medical terminology like he’s speedrunning a WebMD forum in 2003.

And while Kennedy meanders through his “Make America Healthy Again” tour like a Whole Foods-wrapped cult leader, the agency he runs is being gutted. Layoffs, slashed NIH grants, CDC field teams ghosted… this isn’t reform; it’s annihilation. The long tail? More outbreaks, more deaths, fewer cures. The man who claims to “love science” is leaving our labs begging for pipettes on email chains.

This is sabotage dressed up as “wellness,” and the casualties won’t be theoretical; they’ll be buried.

Retired physician here says thanks for including the bit about the EXTREME tonsillectomy (bungee jumping drinking a Mountain Dew......) and the "Graph positive" bacteria, fictional medical TV shows do a better job than the head of HHS.........

Even one death is unnecessary today if we apply the science that was effective until Kennedy came to a calling! He has the Lives of every death and illness due to his arrogance. Hope you can sleep with yourself at night

Of course, Fox State Media isn't reminding Americans that Trump has his shots up to date (although maybe we should all get our rabies booster).

Unbelievable how ungrateful this monster is to the US health system for saving his life during COVID.

Vaccines will be found to cause autism by these morons through some incredibly shady "research" by "scientists" looking for that result around the time when school starts. (Why else would September be the goal?) Then Trump will get to follow through on what he said many times when he was campaigning, that every school with a vaccine mandate will lose federal funding. (Though there might not be any funding left by that time anyway.) Childhood vaccines will be discouraged, possibly banned. Disease will run rampant. Just one more grim outcome for our country full of people who have no knowledge of history and get their "news" from a fascist social media app. As JVL always says, good luck America.

Autism and neurodivergent people were often created through early childhood neglect and low education.

We need more maternity leave. Maternity leave will not be studied.

And thanks for the highly informative story, Jonathan. Super tired of people softening the image of this dangerous man just because he gives the most obvious health advice on the planet.

Ahhhh. I saw the headline but wondered what had actually gone on - THANK-YOU!!

These mega-rich people can't see passed the end of next week. How do they think they are going to make the bulk of their money when the country is populated by dumb, sick people? There will be no migrants with good educations to save them because the US will be one of the least desirable destinations on the planet.

"....she was graph positive..."

He says this stuff so that we'll think he has some kind of medical knowledge or background, but then he gets it wrong. It's too bad so many Americans are so gullible.

I am flat out astonished that so many children in Texas are unvaccinated. Is this common in right wing states?

I think a lot of them in that area of Texas have a religious exemption.

Unfortunately, after a period of months, when preventable deaths will become more and more routine, it will become background noise. Kennedy is a crackpot, and the fact he is running our premier health agency is utter madness. We should stop pretending otherwise.

Great. Americans... All your unemployed doctors, scientists, technologists, nurses, radiologists, Immunologists. biologists, virologists oncologists heart and neurological specialists and researchers are welcome to emigrate to Canada. We have a doctor and nurse shortage. You will likely get a government bonus to practice in Canada. We have world class teaching and research hospitals spread across the country.

We are a safe country, we are not a Fascist state. We do not use guns to shoot each other. We have universal health care and free dental care for those who cannot afford it. We have Canada Pension Plan and Old Age security pensions for retirement. Registered retirement plans and Tax Free Investment accounts for investing.

We are not anti LGBTQ+ (except for a few religious nuts that most people ignore). You can love and marry who ever you want. You can speak whatever language you want. We have $10 a day daycare. We have excellent Universities, colleges, trade schools and private and public schools.

Bring your research with you and we will get you set up.

You will pay more income taxes here. The liquor and gas will be more expensive. That is what pays for all the government provided benefits. It is not prohibitive. But people complain anyway. That's human nature.

We are polite, humorous and we help each other. Other countries seem to like us for the most part.

Please leave your guns in the US. You won't need them here.

Please ensure your vaccinations are up to date. (you don't "have " to be vaccinated but if you care about your fellow humans you should. Those who don't bother, tend to get sick and are ridiculed and avoided. ;) )

Come as soon as you lose your job. We are looking forward to welcoming you.

By no means is it perfect. But you are welcome to come and help improve it.

This wacko is going to cause avoidable deaths, definitely.

This administration is bent on making people suffer or die. The making money off of the powerless I get. Not that it's ok, but the wealthy never have enough.

The cruelty part is truly perverse. These chosen people are cruel and I am so sickened, I can't do this anymore.

Time for some Carlin.

"In the days that followed, any lingering ambiguity about Kennedy’s true feelings disappeared—first, with a report in the Atlantic that Kennedy had told the two girls’ parents that “You don’t know what’s in the vaccine anymore,” and then with Kennedy’s statement at Thursday’s cabinet meeting that his new inquiry into the causes of autism would have an answer “by September.”

There is no question there will be a foregone conclusion indicting vaccines as the cause of autism, it is what Kennedy wants, and just like trump reality has nothing to do with it. As troubling as that is, the fact the CDC did now respond to a request for help is even worse.
