As a writer myself (but not of screenplays), I found this discussion fascinating. Horror is not my preferred genre, and I don’t go to many movies (She Rides Shotgun was the last one, because I liked that novel so much), but I’ll make an effort to find Dolly at a local theater.

Just saw the trailer for this yesterday, and holy. mf’n. shitsnacks.

Having grown up with pediophobia (what an unfortunate name…) that can still tweak me viscerally, at least until I remind myself that I’m a grown ass man, I have to say…I CAN’T WAIT to see this! It looks sooooo wonderfully f’d up.

By my count this marks the fifth Bulwark Goes to Hollywood episode about a film that played at Music Box Theater here in Chicago*. I commemorated the occasion with a list, because Letterboxd is made for such things.

*Also, full disclosure I've directed one of those films but I'm nowhere near the league as the other films/filmmakers.

oh CRAP. I didn’t know this had just played downtown! Hell of a drive for me (I’m over by IN/MI border), and I’d probably have to sleep the film off crying in an alley or something, but I’m tempted to make the trek!

Wait, I also didn’t realize it was having a general theatrical release and is actually playing all over! Sort of surprised! At least that way I can whimper myself to sleep in my own bed afterwards!

800 screens! It’ll probably be at least NEAR you.

Just finished the interview/pod; excellent show! Fascinating!

And yes, definitely close! In my city, in fact!
