The last thing the DNC needs is Rahm Emanuel at the helm. We do not need anyone leading the party who is nothing more than a corporate tool. The Dems need to listen to their grass roots supporters. We are done with leaders and candidates who are compromised by corporate and PAC cash and therefore cannot or will not address income inequality, health care costs, unfair Social Security and Medicare taxation, and tax breaks for the rich and corporations coupled with higher costs and fewer benefits for working Americans. I would take anyone for DNC Chair over a Clinton corporatist retread.

Ken Martin is totally mistaken. What the DNC needs is a total enima that cleans out its current muddled thinking and provides leadership and visceral focus that will provide a dynamic message of specific Democratic principles and policies for November and beyond.

The only place for a failed leader is immediate dismissal and replacement, hopefully with someone younger than 70. I won’t give Ken Martin’s DNC a nickel, as I support individual candidates.

Wow! Thanks Rufus.

The Republicans have an actual Nazi problem but sure let’s write umpteen articles disparaging the DNC chair. 🤷 why does this seem like a manufactured story the press is loving right now?

Rahm Emmanuel? Again. ZZZzzzzzzz. NO. Period. The DNC will once again sideline Ben Wikler? And draft failed presidential candidates Buttigieg and Dean? Or McAuliffe, who failed to get reelected VA because of A SINGLE COMMENT? Or Brazile? The genius who ran Gore’s pres campaign and helped him lose the whole thing by just over 700 votes? All those people, except Wikler, who single-handedly turned Wisconsin blue, are themselves hanging chads. But the DNC will draft one of those proven losers, instead of a winner. Idiots. And there goes the country.

Rahm or Pete would be amazing!

DNC needs a massive loan? So just go to Aipac they're delving out all kinds of dough to stave off the onslaught of a clear strong progressive country wide revolution . These folks, don't you love them are not embarassed to stand for things like medicare for all, no more money or arms to Israel so they can keep killing and butchering innocents. Yes they even are not afraid of calling a spade a spade, genocide is genocide. You remember when without any harsh words and condemnation we permitted our international war criminal regime leader to kill innocent young children at school.

The entrenched democratic leadership has ran out of options other then bad mouthing THE RISING YOUNGER dems that are not affraid to speak truth to weakling power. And this is what we'll have if we cannot retire these hang-ons. They consistantly take hundreds of millions from the billionaire, Epstein, and tech bro class and know well how to behave under the thums of the big money corporate donors

You left out the central responsibility a DNC co-chair would have. Boxing Ken Martin up and shipping him back to where he came from.

Which is most likely Russ Vought's back pocket.

The two people who immediately came to mind were Ben Wikler (who’s giving off “not interested” vibes) and Howard Dean (who’s old, but I think he had the right idea with his “50 state” strategy). Or how about looking at someone who’s been successful at the state level, such as the chair of the North Carolina state Democratic Party? Don’t even know her name, but what she’s been able to accomplish in a highly-gerrymandered red state is impressive.

This article, at this particular point in time, scares the shit out of me. We are primed to have a huge blue wave hit this November, and as typical, we are in a state of dysfunction, which has led us to be in the position we are in, wringing our hands in bewilderment and not growing a set. To oust Martin anytime before the election is a huge boost to the maga crowd and yet another sign of our incompetence. We should quietly address this issue, get someone competent to assist and get our message out and raise some funds and get our base energized, it is there, we just need to get a unified message out. This administration gives us bullets every single day and I don’t see enough effort from the dnc to make this a daily sticking point and have it on national news every day. I am in no means disparaging the hardworking folks from indivisible, moms rising and others, I wholly applaud your efforts and am behind you 100%, but the dnc sucks at messaging and rallying the troops. This election is probably the most important in my lifetime, and at 70 years old, am scared at what another 2 years of this asshole will bring.

"Top donors are particularly addicted to shows like MS NOW's Morning Joe" Help! (How does this display consistency if they are moving the party to the left at the same time since the populist left people that I knew had utter contempt for "Morning Joe" and under their influence I have barely even watched clips on YouTube)

I don't know what other than the state party building Ken Martin will have to do if this presumed co-chair will be doing all the glamorous activities.

Being able to rally the troops on cable news and being able to actually govern are two very different things and people who prioritize the first thing should remember how small and graying the cable news audience actually is and how the candidate/party official is at the mercy of the social media aggregators to reach a big audience

The BAD news: The DNC is a dumpster fire with a leader whose primary mission there seems to be holding onto his own job.

The GOOD news: Lauren seems to be swimming in sources inside the DNC and probably knows what Ken Martin had for breakfast.

Ken Martin had headlights for breakfast. It's what deer eat.

All I can say is I will never again vote for a Republican. But I also will never give another dime to the DNC. And Ken Martin has only made me feel that way even more. They stuff done in NJ by the DNC and of course their interference in the 2016 primaries I'm done with the DNC. I will donate to candidates only. They made their bed, now they get to sleep in it.

Dude! In plain English. RESIGN. KenMartin is no different than the trump (low t) administration. You had a chance. We must MOVE on.

Martin was a bad choice. Ben Wikler would have been amazing. Honestly, I never gave the DNC much thought but after listening to Martin on Pod Save America, I was outraged. No one this incompetent should be allowed to run the DNC, especially given the image problems the democratic party faces. Fine, have a co-chair but Martin needs to go, and quickly, midterms be damned. Oh yeah, I will not donate another penny to the DNC until they ax Martin.

My top four choices are, in order, Ben Wikler, David Hogg, Pete Buttigieg, and Rahm Emanuel.
