I love a FB meme I saw, of a Venn Diagram explaining the Epstein saga. The diagram consists of two groups of people "those in the files" and "those not wishing the files released" - but there is only a single circle, with both groups inside.
In hopes of initiating a new conspiracy theory within the conspiracy theory MAGA world: Perhaps those “in charge” have decided that Trump’s increasingly deranged and incoherent ramblings and petty and vindictive governing style have outlived their usefulness to the cause of establishing a billionaire oligarch and it’s time to ditch him for someone with a little more focus and a little less cavalier baggage.
Not likely, but hope springs eternal even in dark times.

Watching MAGA eat itself over Epstein is like watching five televangelists try to cast demons out of each other with the same anointing oil.
You've got the “move on” crowd pretending the altar never existed, the dead-enders demanding blood sacrifices, the compromise crew trying to substitute Brennan for Baal, the cabal apologists whispering “the devil’s too strong,” and poor Roger Stone getting heckled by his own exorcism chant.
Turns out when you promise to drain the swamp, you shouldn’t be caught soaking in it.
Is it bad I'm only now coming to understand the depth of delusion in MAGA, or is it good I was able to ignore it for so long? No, it's bad, because now I understand there is a much greater problem with my fellow Americans than I knew. There are no faculties of reason over there.
How do you pull your country out of the clutches of people living in delusion? This is the job, right? I guess we can hope they tear themselves apart with competing delusions, which is clearly the threat their founding fathers are trying to forestall. But I only studied logic, so I feel ill equipped to join the battle.

My guess for the most likely next gambit by the regime will be #3: The Show-Trial Compromisers. This attempt at misdirection will be on-brand and one that they are geared for already. I won't predict what the ultimate outcomes will be for either this attempt or the larger Epstein affair. I'm pretty sure it will open up worm cans, in the words of our Dear Leader: "like no one has ever seen before". Even though they like and benefit from chaos, this action could begin revealing other things they don't want revealed, and create unanticipated blowback. Things could be said under oath and into the record that they don't want said.
The reason I suspect this is that they have done NONE of this to date, even thought it was a clear mandate given them by their ravenous mob. Hillary in a gibbet is what they want, what they have to have, to satisfy their bloodlust (she is only one of many). They have not gotten that or anything along those lines and, somehow, the Regime has held the line on pursuing those causes without serious blowback. For now.
The only surprising thing about any of this (though all of it is shocking) is that Trump, himself, directly ordered his flying monkeys to drop it, and they refused. Can he intimidate Kirk with a 'loss of access' threat? Sure. But his rank-and-file aren't having it. For now.

It's not just the conspiracists who are claiming that Epstein was a Mossad agent. Retired US counterintelligence officer John Schindler posted a long piece to that effect on his Substack yesterday:
As a former intelligence officer myself, I find it plausible. It would explain why top officials of both parties have consistently downplayed the Epstein case.
But, on the other hand, there is the Dead Guy problem. Would Maxwell have the goods, like the GOODS? Yes, she would. She could open a channel to Trump and demand a pardon right now. She could have done it the day he took office. But there are always those pesky Mysterious Circumstances lurking about. She, and anybody else who talked, could wind up right on the slab, too. All it takes is for them to believe it, and the people who know will maintain their silence. There are apparently people in the world with power untold, so it would be a simple matter for me to slip into a Grand Cabal conspiracy, especially when it comes to self-preservation.
