We don't need Chris Christie to stay in the race.

We need Chris Christie to be the Republican nominee.

I am a Biden supporter and I say this even though Christie could beat Biden. We need two sane parties. Christie is the only Republican running who could return the Republican Party to sanity.

Well done. Looks like you and a couple of regulars are well represented in the comments. I haven't listened to it yet, but it will the first thing on the agenda after dinner and I get settled in. With Kinzinger on I'm betting it's a good episode. I'd like to hear Liz on one of the podcasts as well.

"The poll finds 44 percent of those who voted for Trump say the FBI instigated the attack." This seems to track with 25% of American believe it, too, suggesting that mostly those who voted for him believe it. I can live with that.

It makes no sense for Never Trumpers to want Christie out of the race. In favor of whom? Haley? 🤣😂😅

I’m with Charlie on this one.

I have never been impressed with Haley. She is clearly a lightweight and someone who only comes to the right principles when absolutely forced to. Christie is a bully but he actually does have real principles.

JVL is of course right. Christie, no matter his past - is the only essential Republican candidate still in the race. The other two are non entities and jokes. Eunuchs both (can a woman be a eunuch?)

We usually get 2-3 perfect blue sky sunny days in March just to tease us before a blizzard in the first week of April. Lately it has just been rainstorms at that time of year (the last few years thanks to climate change). Although today we have snow! (Tuesday I saw 5 people walking around wearing shorts).

That last screenshot. They all talk about overwhelming evidence that TFG won the election but there are never any particulars provided. Same with the statement about him being the best prez in the last 100 years. Based on what? What did he achieve other than killing a million Americans by lying about COVID?

Christie needs to stay in the race because he is the voice of reason when it comes to TFG. Never thought I'd ever say that. So I guess that right-wing shill, Hugh Hewitt, tried to bully him into dropping out of the race today during a radio appearance. Hewitt keeps referring to himself as "Switzerland," which is fk'ng annoying, but he is really a toady for TFG.

As much as I find reading and listening to the Bulwark folks perspective on the current ins and outs of politics interesting, I am growing concerned that focusing on the GOP circus is missing a huge barrier to beating trump. You are not addressing the possible voters Biden is losing by continuing to support with funding, the Gaza bombing. Yes he counsels restraint verbally, but Netanyahu keeps on bombing. 20,000 actual dead (mostly children) is a reality , in my mind, is a catastrophe that overshadows the “potential of” a projected fascist catastrophe. The real suffering and death overshadows the possible. If Biden ignores the young voters, he will lose. And he is ignoring them. Just like he is ignoring the plight of the Palestinians in Gaza. So in my mind, focusing on Chris Christie and Nicki are red herrings, interesting distractions that won’t stop Trump. Biden has to stop funding international war crimes. Young people can not stomach hypocrisy and murder even less. I urge readers to send their thoughts to Biden at https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/

Biden needs to support Israel and Ukraine.

20,000 dead is an unvetted number and includes all the Hamas terrorists Israel has killed. The more dead Hamas terrorists the better.

And even if you believe that 20,000 Gaza civilians have died (which would mean that Hamas has sacrificed its civilians in order to protect all its terrorists) that is a very LOW casualty count compared to other examples of urban warfare in the past century. Consider Stalingrad, Budapest, Manila, Berlin... Israel is actually taking a long time to conquer Gaza and in doing so it is minimizing civilian casualties to a degree not seen before in modern urban warfare. It would have suffered less in terms of PR had it simply bombed Gaza back to the neolithic period quickly and gotten things over with. The anti-Semitic hate machine that defends the Hamas thugs would not have been able to organize its lies in time to defame it.

I originally was going to let your inaccurate statement that the Palestine’s MOH death count in Gaza was inaccurate, go. Anyone who believes in bombing a people into the Stone Age, has a heart that has been so hurt to say that, cannot be reasoned with.

But…. for those others who actually might be misled by that false statement, please consider the following statements, a few of many organizations, vouching for the accuracy of the death count in GAZA due to the massive bombing of civilians.

This is no WW2 effort trying to stop the Nazis. This is the continued genocide of a people. Day in, day out. (My son is Jewish, and visited Israel last year. I never have nor will support Hamas or the kind of murderous evil they perpetrated on the innocent souls on Oct 6. But this brutal response on civilians, is not only a war crime, it is not only equally as evil, but will come back to haunt all the world. Violence only perpetuates more violence.)

I agree that Chris Christie should stay in the Republican race. He is telling the truth about Donald Trump, and he had the guts to say he made a mistake backing him during 2016.

Couldn't agree more, Charlie. The world needs Christie's voice out there the way it needs Sarah's Superpac and The Bulwark and other fight-for-whats-right-and-true voices. Also, why does everyone assume most of his voters will go to Haley? I mean, if you want what he's selling and he leaves the stage, you stay home, right? Cause there's no one there for you except Biden. (And probably a lot of them are Ds, anyway). You don't sign up with an appalling sell-out like Haley who, as JVL, Sarah and Tim have frequently and eloquently pointed out, is going to endorse Trump (and pardon him! God help us!), and therefore normalize one of the most dangerous political figures the world has ever known. I hope Christie has a load and prominent platform for his message right up to the election. Thanks for all you do.

I would love to see Haley win the nomination, not because she'd "usher the Republican party back to normalcy" (she won't; she'll just be beholden to the radicals, too). But because tfg would never concede, and he will burn the R party to the ground - which is frankly nothing less than that party deserves. As for McConnell, I hope he lives a long life still - long enough to see abortion rights enshrined in state constitutions across this nation, and nothing his precious corrupt, packed Court can do about it.

The corrupt court could rule that a fertilized embryo is a "person" under the 14th Amendment. Never mind that the term "born" appears there. The corrupt court is a political vehicle and doesn't really care what the Constitution actually says.

Christie is showing immense courage and strength and is doing our country a significant service. I hope he stays in, or finds other ways to effectively communicate his message to the American people as long as his resources last. Is there any way teaming up with Liz Cheney would increase their combined impact?
