"She probably had herself sprayed, knowing her,” Donald Trump told ABC News."

That is what Donald did with the fake assassination attempts. Difference is, donnie had 2 civilians killed to get the "sorrow" vote.

“ Did Ilhan Omar Stage Her Attack? Of Course Not. But Trump Thinks So.”

Suggest “Thinks” → “Claims”

Man that tweet about the goth kids was gross. Once again proving they don’t think of their kids as people

I loved that her reflex reaction was to go after him! She’s not going to tolerate any bullshit.

As a voter in her district I preferred other Democratic-Farmer-Labor candidates over the years, but if one is known for their enemies she is tops with me these days. I can overlook a few of her iffy votes in Congress, but she has become one of the unlikely heroes of the moment. Go Omar!

All of the attacks on Democrats, especially liberals could have been avoided if the Left had just shut the fuck up with the cancel culture and "correct speech." That did more damage to the body politic than most are willing to admit. It most certainly got Trump elected in 2024. And here we are. Police state. Graft and corruption. Surveillance and mass arrests. Elections looking shaky. Tariffs and blowing off our sworn allies. Our standing in the world a joke. Ask yourself: Was it worth it?

Do you mean political correctness which originally was another way of saying civil discourse, or wokeness, which for right-wingers is a modern euphemism for "n-lover"? No, not for everybody are these terms vulgar, but their exaggerated and occasionally inappropriate uses have been fully absorbed by those willing to divide us and excuse the hate speech that passes for acceptable right-wing expression. Some cancel culture is justified, some is ridiculous, but reasonable debate is not an excuse for haters to hate.

The old adage, "Democrats fall in love, Republicans fall in line" is valid here. Within the Dem party there is a vast, diverse and well-meaning coalition of groups. Unfortunately, they often insist on purity tests before providing full-throated support. That dilutes tremendously any necessary solidarity for winning elections. Some give only luke warm endorsements, or no money, or walk away in a huff. I spent 40 years in Dem politics in California. I've seen this happen way too many times. Woke/DEI is only part of the problem--which is not to say they aren't good, righteous goals. But it has been the way we went about it that so alienated those left behind, from schooling to the economy, in other words, much of MAGA. They rose up, thrilled that their backlash had a mad king to make it all go away. And so it is, much of what the Left accomplished over the last 40 or so years is being destroyed. It was never about whether it was a good and right thing, it was how we went about it. And it cost us dearly.

It's indicative of how much we have internalized and normalized reich wing political violence that a soft piece like this can be written about an attack on a sitting congresswoman and it generates a chuckle about the knuckleheads.

The idea that we need a "conservative alternative" to anything is rich. As if America isn't already drowning in "conservative" viewpoints.

There’s plenty of conservative media out there, and I think it’s pretty clear that Paramount is moving into the Conservative media sphere. Landman, Yellowstone, all kinds of nightly procedurals. Bari Weiss on media… They already had older folks, which skew more conservative.

Okay, so to believe the Omar attack was a false flag operation, we need to assume this man predicted years ago that this woman would one day hold federal office, posted right-wing conspiracies for years on social media throughout in order to set the stage, and willingly gave up his freedom in order to further her agenda?? Sure, Jan.

An additional conspiracy theory about Omar is that the suspect worked at her fake winery, so they knew each other. Supposedly her winery has a website, but if you go there it's just an empty lot, yet it has employees? Or at least one employee?

Edited to add: I just read an that actually he wasn't an employee, but he was paid 50K (annually? I don't know) to pretend he was an employee at the fake winery.

It’s telling that none of these rightwing weenies can fathom anyone being as badass as Omar was in that moment.

Trump and Tuberville, etc., accuse others of what they do themselves.

Tommy Tupperville was on Benny Hill?. Finally, an appropriate venue.

I was assaulted as a grad student in the 80s. A guy walked past me outside campus and “goosed” me from behind. Guess what my instinct was? I followed him and gave him a swift kick in the rear. Told him never fuck with me or any other woman. He turned and walked away as I watched him - fists up - adrenaline surging. Now maybe that wasn’t the smartest thing to do (I was a brown belt in Kenpo karate though), but lordy it was satisfying.
