Mr. Kristol is spot on. Anybody who thinks that the autocrats won't do what David Graham of The Atlantic has postulated regarding upcoming election subversion is not paying attention. For those who think that the torching of our country is a distraction from the "epstein files", I must respectfully disagree. It is the "epstein files" that are the distraction from the ruination being inflicted on our country by the dictator and his bootlickers and their desire to stay in power indefinitely. When the dictator said something to the effect of "i could shoot someone in the middle of 5th avenue and my people still won't leave me" he could instead have said "i could abuse girls and participate in child trafficking and my people still won't leave me." Thank you for keeping it real, Mr. Kristol.

Come on Bill. There's no way Trump's thinking is that coherent.

Oh, I dunno. I think he got the stream of consciousness drivel down pretty well, especially with every second word being "me".

Great advice for Mayor-elect Mamdani—if only!

Oh man, I want some of what you guys are smoking! Bill totally nailed Trump's infantile, maniacal frame of mind with the hubris-laden sense of entitlement. Then, Mona postulated the most outrageous and hilarious scenario imaginable with the 'tit-for-tat take that' vengeance! I couldn't stop laughing out loud! Brilliant!

Mona's piece is fantastic. I hope it gets to Mamdani stat. Razing Trump Tower is a must.

Truly. Ms. Charen needs to be a top Democratic strategist. That piece was great!

"And the Donald J. Trump Commanders Football Stadium."

You mean the "Donald J. Trump Redskins Football Stadium." Most cultists hate the "woke" new name.

I can't see him wanting to share any glory with the team that plays there or with the sport for that matter: "Donald J. Trump Stadium."

Your take on the mind of Donald Trump is spot on. And truly terrifying, because it probably understates all of the crazy, malignant, narcissistic BS that cycles through his addled mind daily.

America will soon find out how those terrifying thoughts manifest themselves as we approach the upcoming elections.

My brain needs rewiring after reading Bill’s post. It short circuited. Listening to Trump’s voice is bad enough, but reading his thinking is worse. Seriously, Bill, don’t do this again. I beg of you. 🤯

Bill is uncanny in his ability to peek inside the orange covered brain of dear leader. The whole thread looks pretty spot on from what’s happened so far.

Thanks Bill and Mona. Excellent writing. The imagined interworkings of Trump's mind was terrifying and how to transfer those maniacal thoughts and ideas into Mamdani's brain was entertaining. Appreciate the work you put into this.

As to the idea he plans to remain in office until an action by an undertaker, Mark Leibovich in the Atlantic quotes Mike Murphy on Trump's superhuman claim on the office of the presidency into eternity: "Trump's Superman mythology just had 100 pounds of Kryptonite shoved down its throat." Which was effect of last week's resounding GOP routing in basically every election. Murphy's assessment sounds about right to me. But doesn't mean he won't try to overstay his welcome, just the same
