The only thing that distinguishes these "groypers" from all the other vanity/niche candidates of the past (and the social misfits that support them) is the antisocial media platforms that make them seem more significant than they really are. When comments are made on a podcast no one actually listens to by someone that no one will ever support it does not warrant the attention it is being given. Joe Rogan and Alex Jones have significant influence but all these sad "legends in their own mind" wannabes would best be ignored. They can't even get on the same political agenda page like the women's wrestling heal and hero of Candace Owens and the Widow Kirk.
They are so busy monetizing their influence they really don't care who wins as long as the clicks, likes and shares keep coming in. Jim Fishback's debts won't settle themselves.
Broke? Despondent on cloudy days? In a world of hurt and legal trouble? What's a person to do? I know: run for governor! The scary part is the continuing rise of disaffected youths who are drawn to the groyper movement and who think Nick Fuentes is cool. Does not bode well for elections 20 years out.
“Odd” is a gamma ray burst of an understatement. These dudes either chest chump over the claim that they’ve never had sex (with a woman?), or there’s allegations (with an s) of statutory rape lurking like a cheetah in the tall grass! Your chances of spotting a unicorn are greater than finding one of these guys in a normal, healthy relationship with a well adjusted adult female! In a normal world, rape cred on the dark web (or any where else) would be disqualifying. Alas…
Goddamnit, Asmongold, the disgusting basement dweller who literally lived in filth, is now somehow a “political influencer”?
I remember when he was just a douche complaining about the World of Warcraft developers. I’m so annoyed that the “gamer to fash” pipeline is strong. Sigh…
The race to the bottom continues. These excited losers can’t control themselves, out doing each other for attention. It’s definitely a hateful community they have. Community it is though, and JD & Trump find them useful idiots to stay friendly with so they can serve as online thugs against Trump foes. (Sometimes violent, like their Charlottesville Nazi rally) In the Trump administration, Miller is probably the closest in ideology and he hopes to recruit as many as he can for ICE duty.
Geez, Will. I know others say this all the time but thank you for wading through this garbage on our behalf. Please share your methods for cleansing and renewing your brain!
I heard your discussion about Fishback with Tim the other day. From your description of him, his racism, etc, I thought "what an asshole!", and then went about my day, without another thought about it.
Ohhhh, THAT's why James Fishback has had at least four critical articles in the Bulwark.
There are a lot of rancid, far-right Republicans, saying all sorts of crazy stuff, people like Randy Fine (picking one of many). But it seems the Bulwark only covers them critically IF they also happen to be anti-genocide.
The Bulwark has quoted Randy Fine at least half a dozen times, but never critically. Usually, those quotations are about Fine declaring someone an anti-semite, which is often. In fact, you pronounced him an "ardent supporter of Israel". 'Ardent' is a bit of a euphemism, isn't it?
James Fishback may be a racist, a gyoper, a white supremacist, and an antisemite. And that is all VERY, VERY bad, and deserves our hearty, collective condemnation.
But Randy Fine is more rancid than James Fishback, and it's not close. Not close AT ALL.
From Wikipedia:
- In April 2019, Fine called Paul Halpern, a progressive Jewish constituent of his, a "Judenrat" for supporting an event that was sharply critical of the Israeli government.
- Regarding the deaths of Palestinian children during the conflict, he said, "I don't personally feel bad when human shields are killed".
- Fine voted against a Florida House of Representatives unsuccessful resolution calling for a ceasefire in the ongoing Gaza war ... asserting that anyone who voted for the resolution was anti-Semitic and "putting every Jewish child in the state at risk."
- Following the killing of Turkish-American citizen Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi* by the Israel Defense Forces in September 2024, Fine tweeted "Throw rocks, get shot. One less #MuslimTerrorist. #FireAway,"
- In February 2025, Fine claimed in a series of tweets that there was no such thing as innocent Palestinian civilians, called them "demons that live on Earth" who "deserve death," and said that "Gaza must be destroyed."
There's a lot more, but I'm already throwing up. Read for yourself if you want to:
None of these comments have ever been covered in The Bulwark. AFAIK, no pro-genocide comment from ANY commentator, American or Israeli, has ever been covered in The Bulwark.
So go ahead - bash Fishback as much as you like! I'll bring the bat. But guys, please, prove me wrong, and write a critical article about a rancid Republican who just happens to be very pro-Israel.
Thanks!
* AFAIK: The Bulwark has not covered any of the killings or incarcerations of American civilians, including American children, from the West Bank, including Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi.
Soooo...
Florida Man?
Don't these guys EVER come out of their mom's basement?
The slime that has emanated from the sewers of society ever since 2015 is disturbing.
“And then there’s the Mussolini thing.” A statement of our political times.
IMHO, any reference to Mussolini should be linked to details of the postmortem abuses to his corpse with a warning... "This could be you..."

James Fishback is rather swarthy for a white nationalist. That is all.

Great work Will!!
Sounds like the perfect Rethug to me… seems to check each and every box…
... who couldn't he make the payments to? His former employer
Classic politician selective memory. This kid is going to go far (much to our detriment)
"Meet the first groyper politician"? No thanks. These toddler-men are becoming a dime a dizen.

I’d like to recruit nazi miller for the grey bar hotel at Alligator alcatraz! N see/hear about him getting his ass kicked!
What a world. 700,000 hits for a vidiot who should be doing voiceovers on Bullwinkle cartoons. We deserve oblivion.
