Have you been any paying attention to Democratic messaging over the last 8 years? They're completely incompetent. There's zero chance these comments will hurt Republicans in the next election cycle.
For the Democrats to be able to weaponize this fact against Republicans, Republicans would have to care about the hypocrisy. By longstanding tradition, they do not. They care about power. Any attempt to make them care will only elicit sneers and mocking laughter.
