As someone who has mild cerebral palsy as a result of my mom, in her first trimester with me, contracting a novel virus, I am ANGRY. I expected this-exactly this. However, I had hoped there would be a louder, more educated, more sustained protest. Instead, there is mostly deafening silence from the knowledgeable professionals and those of the educated public.

RFKJr won’t stop with vaccines. He’ll never admit it publicly-but like Trump, he views those of us with disabilities as “undesirables”.

Many in the public health space have called the anti-vax/anti-mask campaigns “Euthanasia by Proxy”. Seemingly healthy, asymptomatic carriers bring the deadly virus to those least able to protect themselves.

Many have posited more than 600 thousand people died needlessly from the “my body-my choice” anti-vax/anti-mask crowd.

Unlike those practicing draconian eugenics in 20th Century authoritarian systems where the techniques were direct and lethal, people like Trump, RFK Jr, and others have learned they can achieve similar results by more circuitous and passive-aggressive means.

It worries me that I will be put more at risk by RFK Jr’s actions and by America’s complacency.

If Mr Kennedy really wanted to make America healthy again he would do a thorough study of that brain worm crap he had. I'm beginning to think it's still in there and very alarmed it could be contagious. It would explain Trump's behavior and the rest of his cabinet placebo clowns insanity. We're going to need another vaccine.

Well, the fact is that the testing process proves that vaccines are safe and effective. RFK Jr can't win that battle. However, he can win over people with some mental problem with his conspiracy theories, which is why the next democratic congress needs to improve the nomination process to require competency for office of department and agency heads. If the person doesn't have the core competency then approval is automatically denied.

Then there's the mission of the department or agency, that is to be maintained, but that requires congressional oversight. As these departments are law, congress can remove a corporate shill or conspiracist from office as Article II, Sections 2 and 3 do not put the president in charge of any department or agency created by law. We need a Democratic congress.

I'm hearing this question increasingly. What can we do? Calls to Congress people seem not to move the needle. Mass protests? I think there's something to that. I think June 14 might be a good time for one, but I'm not hearing about that. I, for one, can't watch if this parade actually happens, spending our money so DJT can stand and gloat as if we are all wishing him a happy war machine, I mean happy birthday.

Nobody should sleep on creepy Bob. The democracy doom and the corrupt idealism has to be top of mind but the damage this asshat is going to do is scary.

Pregnancy is a high risk condition for covid. I still remember news articles about the tragic deaths of young otherwise healthy women. The fetus is also more likely to be premature or low birth weight leading to long term health problems.

America first means if there's anything we do well, squash it. Innovation on vaccines? Sure. Brain drain to our universities? Stop it. Agriculture? Tariffs on the market. Please don't tell them about Black music.

To me, it's important that we recognize that a lot of Americans do believe this.

We can argue about causes, but it's clear that they do.

My life was saved by the rabies vaccine after I was bitten by a rabid fox. Rabies infection is 100% and horribly fatal, there is no treatment but the vaccine, which if given promptly is almost completely effective in preventing disease. In the poorer parts of the world hundreds of people die of rabies annually. Vaccine - Vital in dogs, vital for people exposed! This new antivax mania is dangerous and uninformed! I had whooping cough before the vaccine and was desperately ill as a little kid. A child in my grade school class was crippled for life by polio before that vaccine was widely available. A health system run by a person who doesn't believe in germs and vaccines - I could not have believed such a thing would be possible in the USA!

Well said, and why Congress isn't up in arms is amazing. Too many worship DJT is the answer, I guess; but it surprises me every day. I know it shouldn't because greed, self-interest, grift, and belief in a strong many have taken down many countries. I agree that I wouldn't have believed it would happen here.

That congress isn't up in arms isn't amazing because it's controlled by Republicans who are interested only in destroying government's ability to regulate. Their donors have wanted to make government small enough to drown in a bathtub since Reagan and that includes every department and agency. The GOP is THE enemy of our liberal government and society.

As others have mentioned, please share specific ways to fight those who are dismantling our public health systems. I have already commented on regulations.gov to push back on the limiting of covid vaccines, and I'm likewise concerned that there won't be an available flu shot this fall. I live in a blue state and can count on my Senators and Rep. to fight this, but short of personally organizing a protest in my rural area I really don't know what else to do. Thanks for keeping on it, Bulwark.

My wife received the COVID vaccine when pregnant with our son. Docs told us it conferred immunity to him, which was so reassuring. He's been a healthy, active boy since, four years on. I can't believe I'm saying this, but vaccines shouldn't be an issue.

The Bulwark contributors frequently encourage us to stand up, be vocal, do something... yet stop short of specifics. If we wish to push back on the administration's dismantling of vaccine infrastructure, what does one do, short of launching some hashtags on Xitter and hoping they go viral?

He should not have the authority to keep the Covid vaccine or booster from anyone.

So what recourse do we have to stop this behavior by such a damaged individual? He is harming many people who might think that he is an expert.

This is my question. This was a CDC vaccine recommendation that is apparently relied on by insurance companies in making scope of coverage determinations and was reconfirmed by the CDC in a public release on withdrawing the Covid-19 booster recommendation just last week. Its also been widely reported that RFK's announcement on social media caught the CDC completely off guard and recommendation of the vaccine for pregnant women on the CDC website hasn't changed. So what authority does the crackpot HHS Secretary have to change this by unilateral decree, without scientific basis and against the recommendations of actual scientists?

Good question. How can one man, strategically placed, have complete power and control. I ask myself that daily; and I always come back to the same answer. It's the sycophants surrounding them. Hard to believe people can be so blind, but I know some of them; and they are, blind, that is, blinded by the cult of personality that is DJY.

RFK's plan is brilliant! You cannot have a chronic disease if you die in your youth from a disease that's readily preventable by a vaccine.

Treason is treason, bribery is bribery, but "high crimes and misdemeanors" has been described as being in the eye of the beholding majority. I suggest that while Trump has the power of the pardon, wielding it in such a corrupt way amounts to high crime and misdemeanor.

Please let all of us ordinary but committed citizens know what it is we can do to halt this idiocy before it's too late although lately it seems like we may be past the point of no return. I have emailed and phoned my Republican Congressman and Senator to no avail. I feel helpless and hopeless.
