Can I add my 2 cents about abortion. The problem here is that while is sounds reasonable to ban abortion after 22 weeks, it would be one thing if those women (no birthing persons - yes birthing persons) who had a crisis could easily access abortion even later on. I read medical records for my day job (underwriting) and have yet to see any instances of late term abortions that are not about a crisis. From cancers that need to be treated to fetuses that will not survive if born.

So of course Dems want to keep abortion available throughout. Not to allow a woman to suddenly abort a healthy fetus, normal pregnancy at 29 weeks just because she wants to fit into her skinny jeans.

The GOP misconstrues the issue.

I’m of the growing opinion that there’s just no way to elucidate even a good-faith theory of gender that someone won’t find some way to paint as objectionably bigoted.

And furthermore, I don’t think that necessarily invalidates all of gender politics; rather, it highlights that perhaps the best gender politics for now is a form of studied, patiently stoic agnosticism: you don’t have to believe any particular thing about gender in order to just not treat people like shit.
